This video is visually stimulating for students with Austism. Other students will find this video educational as well. The variety in the video keeps kids interested. The video shares social stories, like how to wash your hands. The video also introduces letters and letter sounds. This video would be a good brain break video.

A dog is divided into 3 parts, front, middle, and back. Students have to place the picture on the correct section of the dog depending on where the letter being worked on occurs in the corresponding word to the picture. This activity could be used for standard 1.RF.3.4. Modifications to the activity would have to be made so that one syllable words were being used instead of words containing multiple syllables. Students could complete this activity during center/free time.

What should curriculum really be based on? This is a great site when creating a curriculum. It explains how curriculum is not based on what sounds good or what works best for the teacher but involvement with the students. This activity can focus on standard 4.RL.3.2. It helps the students to learn the sounds of words, then asks them to read through a poem or story and answer questions relating to different perspectives and story lines.
