This in an interesting study about newsletters and usability issues on a mobile platform, that came to me via some of my Linkedin contacts. I have been responsible for the office newsletter in several workplaces and making the newsletter accessible via mobile phones is definitely something to think about especially as more companies are providing smartphones for employees.

Hi everyone, Given the PEW study we just read that highlighted the use of mobile phones, I found this article particularly interesting and relevant. Published by the World Bank, it explains how access to mobile phone use has reached to 3/4 of the global population. Pretty mind blowing stuff.

Also, there is an increasing "mobile-first strategy" mentality - that websites and applications are being developed on mobile platforms before a compatible desktop version is available. Canadians are embracing smartphones as part of their everyday life, and increasingly they are using these devices to stay connected to their finances through service like mobile banking and emerging options such as mobile payments. It is interesting how much technology has impacted our every day activities.

GREAT article on how smartphones make us "superhuman" and the concept of your phone as a "phantom limb". READ IT! 

As a group, we have been discussing ways to stay organized and on top of our workload for this program and seeing as the vast majority of us have smartphones some of the apps suggested here might be able to help! The suggestions come from app developers who are students themselves, including Brennan McEachran, who is a fourth-year commerce student at Ryerson.

After reading some of the articles for this week this article seemed relevant as it looks at the effects our mobile technology and the need to be always connected is starting to have on consumers.

This is an interesting article about wireless regulation (or the lack of regulation) in Canada. I thought this was especially interesting considering we were just talking about the mobile revolution and the effect it has on work.

Interesting article about the first change to Instagram since Facebook's purchase. They also make interesting comments about how Facebook was more productive when it was a primarily mobile only site, invoking more raw emotion and allowing you to be "more real" on Insta than on other social media sites.

Interesting how much everything is so intertwined with our mobile devices and internet technology that even our cars can get hacked.
