This is a cool site that offers lot's of different PM resources, including articles, templates, and best practice strategies.

This site is from the American Management Association and they offer seminars and resources for developing your project management skills.

This site has rich resources on EI, including articles grouped by category, references, and even some reprints. A good place to look for seminal resources such as Goleman.

This site offers a whole host of tools that are helpful--in addition to other content and guidance. Here is the description from their site: The purpose of the tools and resources feature is to provide assessment instruments and various group process and project management aids that will help Higher Education institutions better manage their most critical technology projects. This Month's Featured Tool Intervention Diagnosis and Planning Tool This management development tool helps the manager discern the type of intervention assistance that is situationally appropriate for their leaders.

This is a great resource that ties instructional design the the Agile project management methodology. I found the pages on "Selecting the Course Format" (http://www.intulogy.com/addie/course-format.html) and "The Course Development Process" (http://www.intulogy.com/addie/develop-materials.html) very interesting. There's a lot of great information here, but not really one place to see all of what is contained herein--like a table of contents. So, set some time aside and enjoy perusing!

Projects At Work also looks like an in-depth resource for project managers to use to for interactive purposes, such as accessing webinars, communication with other PMs, and upcoming events.

This is a tool that I wanted to share because I know in ILT a lot of people tout using Adobe Captivate for various projects. I recently came across Active Presenter, which has a no-time-limit free version that does all of the basic features of Captivate, most notably screen capturing. One of the obstacles I run into with project management is having everyone on a project team understand how to use various resources. If you have an SME who would be willing to make a quick screen capture of how to use a tool and record it using this program, it will save a lot of time getting everyone on the same page.

Time saver and better screen capturing than Captivate? I must try it!

There is a huge variety of project management applications out there. Most are general purpose apps, not aimed at any one industry. But there are a growing number of project management apps aimed specifically at one industry or another. Applications geared toward creative types are becoming more readily available, and some of the offerings are really quite good.

Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is an alternate method of planning and managing projects with an emphasis on the resources required to execute project tasks rather than upon what the traditional WBS encapsulates.

This was interesting! I liked all of the statistics about why projects fail. Being new to all this, it gives me further insight on structuring projects.

Wow, it is hard to believe how many different methodologies there are out there! This one seems really different. I can see how it would be suited for some types of projects, like those with a tangible end product, but I wonder how well it would work with eLearning?

This site offers a nice succinct, streamlined, one page PM process break down; summarized in a flow chart with links to each individual stage of the process. It also has additional links for PM books, services, and templates. A useful link for getting people started in PM.

Wow, John, what a find! I wish I had this a few months ago when we started this course. I've been looking for a simple visual that still manages to encompass most of the detail that goes into the project process. I love the printable color-coded version (http://www.consulting.ky/files/project_management_process_diagram_large.jpg). I plan on hanging that up in my office. I could also print a copy for each project, and use it as a sort of checklist. The other things I love about the site is that it lists specific deliverables for each stage. Love it! It's definitely more usable than the visuals in our Carroll book, since it's more detailed.

I think this FB page has a good value as I found this social media site has a huge influence and is adding users constantly. The site provides news, videos, resources, galleries, and other ways to engage with the area of PM in an easy and accurate way.
