Keepass Password Manager - 0 views

shared by Michael Kazan on 26 Jul 13 - Cached

As our list of tools, programs and sites keeps growing, so does our list of passwords. KeePass is an open-source password manager that allows you to safely store all of your passwords so you can free up mental space for more interesting work! You can keep the file in the cloud if you wish, so it is available on all of your devices.

This is great! Being able to access on all devices is key, I am totally using this, thank you!

Six Essential Skills for Managing Conflict - 0 views

  •
Great concise article on conflict management with specific strategic tips. The goal is not just to resolve conflict, but rather to work through conflict toward a productive outcome.
  •
Great article. I love the very first point - finding the common goal to concentrate on, and using your empathy to approach your adversary as you would a friend.

Easy Chain (Critical Chain Project Management-CCPM) - 1 views

  •
Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is an alternate method of planning and managing projects with an emphasis on the resources required to execute project tasks rather than upon what the traditional WBS encapsulates.
  •
This was interesting! I liked all of the statistics about why projects fail. Being new to all this, it gives me further insight on structuring projects.
  •
Wow, it is hard to believe how many different methodologies there are out there! This one seems really different. I can see how it would be suited for some types of projects, like those with a tangible end product, but I wonder how well it would work with eLearning?

Helping Your People Develop Emotional Intelligence - 0 views

  •
Here is a nice article on emotional intelligent. I like the topic very much.
  •
Peggy, this is a great article and definitely something I can use in my workplace. I think acknowledging how teams deal with and use EI is great in helping create strong interpersonal relationships. Thank you for sharing!
  •
I appreciate this too. One of the things I was curious about after our EI discussions was how best to share knowledge of EI, self-awareness and empathetic communication with team members. It seems to me that rather than just using the techniques we have learned ourselves, we should share them with others as well, so that they understand the approach and the improved empathy is able to move both ways. So this is great to have some advice about that specifically.

Springpad: Everyday life, done better - 2 views

  •
Having seen the previous post on Evernote, I thought I'd add my alternative to it . I use Springpad to keep track of smaller projects on the go and various "to do" lists.
  •
I really need to bite the bullet and incorporate something like this for travel/busy weeks. Have you tried Evernote? If so, why do you prefer Springpad? Thanks.
  •
I like the Springpad interface better, but here's a good article that compares the two. http://lifehacker.com/should-i-use-springpad-or-evernote-504486764

Evaluation Checklists | Western Michigan University Evaluation Center - 0 views

  •
In research and and evaluation these checklists can be incredibly useful. It may be a stretch to apply them to project mgmt for instructional design but there are many links to proposal development that are thought provoking.

Design Thinking for Educators - 0 views

  •
The very cool IDEO methodology Kenny mentioned in a discussion during our course: It is a mindset Design Thinking is the confidence that everyone can be part of creating a more desirable future, and a process to take action when faced with a difficult challenge. That kind of optimism is well needed in education.

The Project Management Podcast - 0 views

  •
I subscribed to this podcast (it has a free option) I liked because it is short (each episode is around 30 min long) and gets directly to the point, so it helps me to understand better some concepts we discuss in our class. I listened to the interview in the Episode 266: PMO and Capitalizing on Diversity (Free) This one gave me a perspective about how to integrate diversity in PM. The other episode I listened was Episode 261: How to Identify Project Stakeholders (Free) , so I learned a little more about this confusing topic for me. I also enjoyed the British accent; I finally can catch what they are saying! I think my English skills are improving: double check!
