This site has rich resources on EI, including articles grouped by category, references, and even some reprints. A good place to look for seminal resources such as Goleman.
Zoho offers a suite of online web applications geared towards increasing your productivity and offering easy collaboration. Zoho's online office tools include a word processor, spreadsheet application, presentation tool, hosted wiki, notebook, CRM, Database software, etc. I have used it for some of the database applications. They also have a Project Management tool. The collaboration tools could also be used by members of a project team to share documents and to work together on projects. Here is an interesting story that I found on their site: http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1855616,00.html.
Make sure your team-building event has a purpose. You've probably been involved in a team-building exercise at some point. Perhaps it was a weekend retreat, or an afternoon at the climbing gym learning to rely on one another, or a day on the golf course getting to know everyone.
another blog that has all sorts of elearning topics, but also some wrting about project management. I especially enjoyed the post, "Top 10 ways to Annoy a Project Manager".
This looks like a great resource/site. Like you said, there are several interesting looking e-learning topics that are worth checking out. The "Top 10" you mention is a funny, but informative article - i especially liked number 10, which is "Forgetting to thank me when I help you out" :)
I also noticed there is a workshop available for this topic, although pricey - if you have the money to burn it could be worth it! Thanks for posting this.
There is a huge variety of project management applications out there. Most are general purpose apps, not aimed at any one industry. But there are a growing number of project management apps aimed specifically at one industry or another. Applications geared toward creative types are becoming more readily available, and some of the offerings are really quite good.
This review published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education examines "examines the foundations of the definitions of emotional intelligence as well as existing educational research involving emotional intelligence, both within the health professions and externally." What I found most helpful was the Summary of Emotional Intelligence Research Trials.
Having seen the previous post on Evernote, I thought I'd add my alternative to it . I use Springpad to keep track of smaller projects on the go and various "to do" lists.
I really need to bite the bullet and incorporate something like this for travel/busy weeks. Have you tried Evernote? If so, why do you prefer Springpad? Thanks.
A free online project management training course with mini-lessons, PM cartoons and humor, monthly articles written by managers, practical tips, and glossary of project manager terms.
This looks fantastic. I think project management is one of those things that you don't know you need until you realize you really do need it. Then, you can't live without it. Thanks for posting!
