This debate has been a very popular and controversial subject over the past weeks since it was aired. Ken Ham represents the christian, old testament, view of creationism and debates Bill Nye, who defends the theory of evolution, and the earth being 4 billion years old. The premise of Ken Hams argument is that there is a large misconception in modern science, in which "historical science" is studied in he same way as "observational science." His claim is that scientists cannot make claims about the age of the earth or "the past" solely by observing the present. Bill Nye tries to prove his own point that observational science and historical science are in the same category of study, and that the only way to make conclusions about the past, present or future is by observing the natural earth as it is now. Nye also makes a strong effort to disprove the old testament's claim that the earth is only 6,000 years old, and that during Noah's Ark there in fact was a global flood. The debate is extremely thought provoking, no matter who you agree with coming into it. This particular debate is at the core of my ILO focus, and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in the idea of creation.

I used this source to help me get ideas for hard candy recipes, particularly older styles of hard candy like lollipops and barley sugar candy, so that I could try making some new types of candy. The author talks not only about the recipe, but about the crucial steps that you have to take to make the candy come out the way that you want it to. I did not see anything like this on most of the other recipes that I looked at. I would highly recommend this to someone who has cooked candy before. I would recommend having practice in the art of cooking candy before attempting any of these recipes.

By far my favorite website while working with the elderly. This site gives a list of activities that have to deal with your senses but as if you're aged. For example: eyes can yellow as you age so this site explains how you could buy swimmer's goggles an color them yellow to show the aged eyes. This site offers the best inside for understanding how different life is for the elders.

Newsweek is a magazine that comes out weekly. It reports on the current issues that are going on. I used an old magazine to learn more about Justice Vs. Terror (Dec. 10 2001).

This website was very helpful when I was taking the Digital Photo class. It has a lot of different tutorials on ways you can make your picture look better. You can make a photo look old or take something away from a photo that you don't really like. It is a great way to make your picture better and higher quality.

Summarize: The main points of this website are different for each chapter. Each book chapter has many online activities to help you cement the Spanish into your brain. The purpose of this website is to practice Spanish through a series of different activities; depending on which lesson that you are on there are certain practices that you can do. There are also many topics depending on the lesson that you are working on practicing, for example in lesson 5A: birthdays and families are the two things to study. This lesson is all about teaching people how to talk about specific family members, how old they are and what things you would see/ have at a party. This website includes lots of information on speaking Spanish. If you are interested in culture that I would look elsewhere, but if you have a Realidad's book along with the book codes found in each lesson, than this is a very practical website for studying and practicing your vocabulary. Review and access: Phschool is a super useful source when studying or practicing. There is a test preparation for each lesson and I use it to see if I have understood all the vocab in each chapter. Other sources haven't been as helpful to me, because they don't follow the Realidad's lessons exactly and don't have all the concepts in our chapters. The information given is definitely reliable because it goes along with a Spanish textbook that our Spanish teacher from Spain recommends using to study. I would recommend this website to anyone who is learning Spanish, because it has helped me learn mine. In the beginning of the lesson everything is fairly easy and as you work your way through the practice the Spanish gets harder until you eventually get to the test preparation. Reflect: This source is very helpful and I continue to use it. Each practice takes between 1-10 minutes depending on how fluent you are at your Spanish. This is another news website for both current and old news that is happening globally. It has been helpful when doing research for multiple classes over this semester. It has information on most all of the latest news, and it is really good information. Most all the information that students need for research can be found on this site.

The Huffington Post is a great website to catch up on all the current events that are happening around the world. I have also found this website very helpful for current event assignments in Global Studies this semester; you can search news on any topic or any country.

The Benoits and many other famous deer hunters have used tracking for years and people today still use tracking to hunt. Being able to track a deer is probably one of the most important and effective ways to hunt. I read an article on hungry for hunting .com that tells people the basics on tracking deer. The main points were, where and when to use tracking, Identifying the gender by looking at the tracks, and trailing the deer. Some topics and issues covered throughout this article are, soils that show tracks better, size and shape of tracks, the difference between old tracks and new, etc. If someone asked what this article is about I would respond by saying that it is about the struggles, importance, and knowledge to track deer. This source was very useful to me, my leaning, hunting, and wildlife exploration. Compared to other sources I have used, this source was very detailed and helpful. This article has pictures and a good chunk of writing. This information is comes from a reliable source and is not opinion based. This source is related to my learning. I would recommend this source to anyone who wants to know about tracking deer. This source was a helpful to my education and my outdoor hobbies. While at the Vermont Tech Jam last Friday, Oct. 24th I spoke with several people who helped to point me in a positive direction regarding my possible career choices One person I spoke with is Tom Jaros from Empower Mobility. Empower Mobility is a custom app making company. Tom gave me great advice to help me with my own app making endeavors. He told me to start with simple things and work my way up. Another thing he told me was if I wanted to make Apple apps I needed to get an Apple computer. He told me to look for old versions of Mac computers so that I don't have to spend a fortune. I thought the things he told me where valuable points and I would consider asking him for an interview about the coding that are required for creating apps. I may have more to reflect on after asking him more questions and talking with him further. Tom sparked my interest with creating apps and I look forward to branching off into this field.
