This website had some helpful tips on how to be a good facilitator of a group discussion. There were a few things I found particularly helpful. I liked what the article said about being the "pacemaker" of the meeting. This would entail making sure that the group was moving through the bullet points of the discussion at an appropriate rate. I also thought that the advice to critique the plausibility of an idea was helpful. Many times during my discussions with the Music Department officers I've run into these issues. The article gave advice on how to deal with problematic situations when in a group discussion. Overall, it was a very informative article.

Discover 70 live species, over 100 interactive experiences, and seasonal changing exhibits and events --- all exploring the Ecology, Culture, History, and Opportunity for stewardship of the Lake Champlain Basin. ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington VT is a place where I have had the pleasure to go for school trips as a younger kid. I also had the opportunity to go on October 23, 2014. Being part of the Pathways Program I get lots of opportunities to meet and learn from experts on my topics. Today I got to meet Steve Smith, an aquarium keeper at the Echo. Shadowing him and his interns helped me understand the deeper care and maintenance of keeping an aquariums. I learned that when feeding your fish watch the way they act when its feeding time. If they stay at the top waiting for food you should slowly give more until they act uninterested. I also learned that the graits in the filters need to be cleaned one or more a week. Only rinse with water because the there is a certain bacteria that the fish need. I also have to look at ammonia in the water. If there is too much I need to drain 2/3s of the water and add new water to the tank. I found it very helpful to hear this information and I look forward to going again soon.

A study by David Mech and Michael Nelson about mating patterns in North American Gray Wolves. The study was conducted on radio tagged wolves in the Superior National Forest of Minnesota. It is commonly understood that Gray Wolves mate for life, most commonly with a member of the same pack and can produce as much offspring as a litter per year of their adult life. This article defies that pre-conceived notion, following a single male who interacts with multiple females while they are both in heat. The male is tracked meeting with both females at the same time over 19 times, always in areas far from the occupation of any other wolves or packs. It is interesting to see that, like humans, wolves have a tendency to stray from the common institution of a single mate for life.

Mahli is an amazing teacher. She helped me to learn Mandarin at a more precise level. Instead of just teaching me vocabulary, she taught me grammar rules and the tones that are crucial to the Chinese language. She would stay after school with me or meet up with me for around an hour every few days and we would go over things that I needed and/or wanted to know and she would help me with them and she would also critique my Chinese. Mahli studied abroad to China, so she knows the difficulties of learning Mandarin, so she is extra patient with you. She is really a great teacher and to anybody who would like some advice on Mandarin Chinese, I would certainly recommend talking to Mahli.

This video is extremely useful in order to understand how the trainers interact with the animals, specifically the orcas. This video really inspired me, seeing them give commands and having the orcas jump out of the water or swim to them. It is also truly incredible to see the trainers pat and feed the orcas, as well as learn about them in their meetings. The most incredible part of this video is seeing the trainers talking about their bonds with the animals. This video is definitely a must see for anyone interested in training animals of any kind, but specifically marine mammals. It will really help the viewer understand how special it truly is to interact with these animals daily as a profession.
