En febrero de 2014 la Comisión Europea aprueba el proyecto ECO, donde un consorcio de 20 universidades y empresas europeas de 7 países diferentes se unieron para desarrollar un innovador programa de acreditación dirigido a profesores y profesoras. El objetivo es mostrar las estrategias de e-learning mediante cursos MOOC (Masivos, Abiertos y Online) de sólo 8 semanas de duración.

I have been working on the creation of an online collaborative design environment that encompasses many aspects of human behavior, technical tooling, and interactive process. One objective of the community domains forum discussions is to move our thinking from isolated subjects into a thought ecology, or whole-system design. The 22 Domains of Community Design are used as an overlay to any subject matter worth pursuing. For example, if you want to build a solar energy device, which would be under the 'Energy and Power' domain, the domains suggest there are far reaching influences across other domains of community design and ongoing development (i.e. a fractal nature to them) that influence our creative process.

Concentrix Management (CM) is a model for distributing and managing information with the intent to cross pollinate ideas and concepts across sub-groups so that each part of the system knows about the 'whole' (of which all working groups within it reside) without overloading any one person.

Identity development is a role that partakes every person's life. Whether their identity falls under race, gender, sexual orientation, or culture each person can connect with one of these classifications to differentiate themselves from the next. Of course there will be those who share the same classifications of identity, but will find a different aspect of themselves to further identify themselves. This article introduces the the "borderlines" of how race, culture, sexual orientation, even physiques connects and is influenced by the digital/cyber world.

A Video Community for Why Open Education Matters

This video was created in 2012, where the OER was already promoted, and I just learned about it in 2014. I guess there are still a lot of people who does not know about it. Now I wonder, what is going to change in the teacher's role? If there are more MOOC courses, does that mean the need of teachers will decline? When he mentioned that they use public funds to develop these Open Educational courses, does that mean the rise of taxes? Although I do support the OER, it is still developing, adjustments need to be made for the balance of these courses and the public sector.

I like this article. I think students are limited to get access to knowledge, resulting from distance, poverty, politics. Open education resources can reduce the distance, making people all around world join a same class. Free makes poverty students get chance to take courses which he couldn't afford before.

Why invest lots of time, effort and energy creating new course materials from scratch when quality, freely-available resources may already exist? Why not adapt and use these resources, known as Open Educational Resources (OER)?

Simultaneously. This has called for the development of new models of information provision to meet user demands.
