"This project focuses on building the capacity of leaders and policymakers in states that are members of the Innovation Lab Network (ILN) to design assessment and accountability systems that result in deeper forms of student learning. With support from the Sandler Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, SCALE works alongside ILN states (California, Kentucky, Iowa, Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oregon, West Virginia, and Wisconsin) to support the development, piloting, and implementation of new performance assessments that can be incorporated into accountability systems. All assessments are aligned to the Common Core State Standards and the work of SBAC and PARCC, the two assessment consortia."
"What is School Research?
Educators around the globe recognize that teaching and learning needs to be transformed to align with the realities of life and work in the 21st century. Today's learners need to develop higher order skills and know how to create and collaborate. At the same time, school leaders need to build their teachers' capacity to develop these skills in students."
"Help your students get the skills they need
The 21st Century Learning Design (21CLD) rubrics provide a research-based methodology to help you identify how to evolve your lesson plans and learning activities to build and assess your students' 21st century skills.

"WPClipart is an ever-growing collection of artwork for schoolkids and others that is free of copyright concerns as well as safe from inappropriate images. Use in school research and reports is my main focus when creating, or finding and editing -- but there are photos and clips here that work great for commercial uses, book illustrations, office presentations, and some just for fun...

"Game-based learning doesn't have to break the bank. That was the key point of my presentation at The Learning Assembly in Melbourne last week.
Sure, you can spend an obscene amount of money on gaming technology if you want to, but you don't have to.
Take Diner Dash for instance. In this free online game, you play the role of a waitress in a busy restaurant. As the customers arrive you need to seat them, take their order, submit the order to the chef, serve their food, transact their payment, clean their table, and take the dirty dishes back to the kitchen."
