The mission of the Solar Energy Technology Office's Tech-to-Market sub-program is to enable the widespread market penetration of highly impactful solar technologies and solutions through technology research, development and demonstration to overcome technical, institutional and market challenges. It is anticipated that the Photovoltaic Research & Development (PVRD) funding opportunity will award $20,000,000 in Federal funding to support 30 to 35 research projects that will advance the limits of photovoltaic cell and module performance toward and beyond the $0.06/kWh 2020 SunShot goal. DARPA is soliciting research proposals to develop novel technologies for infrared sensors. The WIRED program seeks to provide high-performance, low-cost infrared imagers that respond in the short wave infrared (SWIR) and mid wave infrared (MWIR), and that can be fabricated directly on silicon-based readout integrated circuit (ROIC) substrates at the wafer scale. Also of interest are innovative approaches to high temperature long wave infrared (LWIR) detectors that directly measure photocurrent.
