You can use personification to make your writing more interesting. Personification is a figure of speech in which human qualities are given to objects, animals, or ideas. For example: the fire breathed hot in our faces and its flames grabbed at our clothes, or the chocolate cake is calling my name. You can find personification at work in lots of different types of writing. Lewis Carroll's uses lots of personification in The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland. Remember the white rabbit and Alice playing croquet with a deck of cards?

50+ Ways to Tell the Dominoe Story Just to prove it can be done, I create the same story as an example for every tool in the list using a story about my first dog, Dominoe. Previously, I created this short story done as a video assembled from still images and audio that was submitted for a 60 Second Story contest Each story below is based on my storyboard and assembled images on flickr and in Picasa . Note that a number of tools allow you to directly import media from these media sites. Below are examples of the same story (over and over again!) I was able to create in the 50+ tools, with both linked versions (on the tool's web site) and embedded versions, using the code provided to embed a media player into this web site. One of the most interesting discoveries was that most of these tools provided the ability to embed the media in other web sites.

"The purpose of producing energy is to meet three types of societal needs: - Mechanical work (electrical equipment, for example) - Heating supply - Heat removal (cooling systems) Energy does not disappear, it merely changes form. Below you will find 50+ web tools you can use to create your own web-based story. Again, the mission is not to review or try every single one (that would be madness, I know), but pick one that sounds interesting and see if you can produce something. I have used each tool to produce an example of the original Dominoe story, plus links are provided, where available, to examples by other people. Please share your own examples or thoughts in the discussion area of this wiki. Very easy to use and cool site that shares real tools with the teacher in mind.

5 Wolfram|Alpha Apps That Are Perfect For The Classroom - 1 views

" think it's pretty safe to say that almost everyone on the Internet these days has heard of Wolfram|Alpha, the "computational knowledge engine". It's a pretty fascinating, not to mention handy, website. You simply type in your query, "population of Argentina in 1980" for example, and Wolfram|Alpha spits out the answer. What could be more awesome?! Well, what if I told you that Wolfram|Alpha also makes desktop PC and mobile applications that, for all of the notoriety that their's websites received, I've hardly ever heard anyone talk about? And what if I told you that most of these apps were specifically designed with certain subjects in mind, such as statistics, geography, and chemistry? I don't know about you, but I'd be intrigued!"
