I love your message. It's so needed! I'm glad you are speaking the truth, unashamed. We have been bamboozled. Keep after it--and thanks for joining the High Calling. We're really glad to have you in the community!

Balance « Adjusting To The World - 0 views

I have fallen flat on my face more times than I can count, when I've relied on myself (or the world) instead of God. Thanks for the reminder to find my balance in Him. And thanks for joining The High Calling. We're really glad to have you!

Oppressing your employees is as sinful as adultery | In HIS Name HR - 0 views

I am so glad someone is talking about this, in a public forum. I've been in both kinds of jobs--those where my worth has been extremely valued, and those where I've felt like a business expense. In the first, benefits were offered (not just wages, as you accurately said) which made me more loyal. In the latter, I felt used, abused, and cranky. God's wisdom ALWAYS trumps the world's. Always. Thanks for posting this, and for joining The High Calling. We're so glad to have you aboard!

I'm feeling the need to be more childlike myself these days. Love the simplicity of this post, the words, photo and the colors.  Welcome to The High Calling! (new faith member)

I love your cover letter! :) And I'm glad you joined the High Calling Blogs network. We have all denominations and ages of writers, including young Episopalians...and MOST of them have a sense of humor. A few are big gamers, too. So I think you'll find some kindred spirits. Welcome!

Your retreat sounds wonderful. I'm with Liz, above. I miss the days of front porch swings and real, meaningful conversation. (A few of us are like-minded there!) I think so many people just partake of technology mindlessly, letting it consume them. It really irks me when someone lets a tweet or ring interrupt a deep (or even shallow conversation). BTW, welcome to the High Calling community--I think you'll find some kindred spirits there. I'm really glad you've joined and look forward to getting to "know" you better.

Generally speaking, I'm a morning person. I seem to hit a slump in mid-afternoon and can be found by 8PM, half asleep on the sofa if we're all watching TV.  Love the post here. I was just reading Matthew 24 this week, as I prepared for a women's ministry meeting on Disaster Preparedness. By the way, welcome to The High Calling!

This made me smile and God's goodness, in the small things. And chocolate, at that! It almost confirms my belief that on the 8th day, God created chocolate. :)

Such a thoughtful post about a monumental event. As I watched videos of many celebrating his death, I felt sadness. Sadness at the loss of so many lives during the events of 9/11 and since then, but also sadness at a life lost without Jesus. You're a welcomed addition to The High Calling!

Oh. My. Gosh. I love the first photo and that sheepish look. I've seen that look in my children's eyes, felt it in my own heart.  Great to have you as a member of The High Calling!
