  • I think worship is one of the places where we are often tempted to make it about us, instead of about God. I love how you’re having meaningful conversations with people about worship and what a great analogy about familiarity and liturgy. Welcome to The High Calling!

This is such a well-written, evocative post. I love the detail. You really "took me there." I grew up in a non-liturgical tradition but as I mature (ahem...get older), I've begun to really appreciate the symbolism and ceremony which other denominations use in their worship. I think it's beautiful, and as a writer, I like the symbolism. So, thanks! And welcome to the High Calling! We're glad to have you aboard, and look forward to many more interactions.

How cool! I love it when God puts something on our hearts, at just the right time!  I'm a "wogger" - combination of jogging and walking. I use that time to listen to praise and worship music and pray. It's amazing how God's Spirit can move and speak when I'm struggling to make it up that first or last hill. :)

My comment awaiting moderation: What a great idea for a blog link up! I often find God uses music to speak to me exactly where I am. Most recently, it's been the music of William McDowell.  I'm so pleased you've joined The High Calling!
