The word "fatwa" became known worldwide. Often people hear that, the Muslim clergy and scholars a "fatwa" was issued. In some cases, this word is associated with very negative things, like a sentence of death penalty on a person or severe. The word "fatwa" was popularized by the media to catch on in search of sensational stories about the widest possible audience. Islam is a growing religion and it is a religion that has become quite popular after the attack on the Twin Towers.
