    This is a great interactive and multimedia resource for teachers from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum's website.  The beta Digital Classroom begins with the 1950s.  Different artists are highlighted from the 1950s, each with a bio, authentic performance video, "why it matters" section and lesson objectives that highlight important musical aspects of the artist.

    Sometimes all people need is a word of encouragement to keep doing well. As teachers, it is difficult to find ways to keep our students engaged and motivated. We can become so absorbed with getting our students to do well that we may forget to actually tell them when they do well. It may seem small, but simply acknowledging when a student does what is asked of them can keep them motivated to keep doing it.

    This composition site through Classics for Kids gives two levels of composing- beginner and advanced. A great variety of notes to be used (there are dotted rhythms in the advanced level), and students can drag the notes/rests easily to where they'd like to on the staff. This site is great for teaching composition, beats, time signature, treble clef staff and notes.

    Quaver's Marvelous World of Music is an interactive music education curriculum and program that integrates, what students love: technology and fun! The host of the video episodes, "Quaver" makes music learning fun and memorable. There are free parts of the program as well as extensive paid sections.     I have found this website useful countless times!  You can search generally or specifically for pre made presentations for SmartNotebook that you can then download and edit as you wish to fit your own classroom needs.  It could be used in any type of music classroom.

    This site is very appropraite for our class about music and technology. Its purpose is to provide a variety of software program options to help enhance the music education experience. The resoucres are different software programs such as Music Transitions, Composing Music, Teaching Music, and Music Attendence. Many of these programs are games for younger students, offering them a fun way to learn musical concepts that might otherwise not interest them or be difficult to grasp in a traditional classroom setting. You can also share resources and interact with other members of the program to share ideas and ask questions.

Besides the usual blog with free lesson plans and a link to her www.teacherspayteachers.com store, she also has a link to her podcast and facebook group. She includes easy to use labels to sort the blogs as well as a link to highlight her classroom design and organization. Her blogs range in topics from specific lesson plans to teacher self-care and learning styles in the music classroom. She is a Kodaly trained teacher and her blog is geared towards K-6 general music.

    HNU's Kodaly Center Collection is one of the music education websites that I frequent. This website allows the view to search through a vast collection of Kodaly songs to use in the classroom. These songs can be searched based upon grade level, type of song, origin and many more filters. Song types include dance and partner games, as well as call and response songs. There are songs in many different languages, some that may be familiar to students and some that would be brand new.
