This is a list of movies in English/foreign languages that are deemed suitable/good for teens, as suggested by students and friends. They are chosen for ESOL (English for Students of Other Languages) teens in mind, but anyone can watch them. :) Hope this list is useful for other people, in the education field and beyond.

Authentic ESOL materials (e.g news articles, video reports, ebooks) useful for lesson-planning

For five weeks in January-February, participants and ESOL experts can engage in collaborative, online discussion or hands-on virtual workshops of professional and scholarly benefit. These sessions will bring together participants for a longer period of time than is permitted by the four-day convention and will allow a fuller development of ideas than is otherwise possible in convention sessions.   Sessions may be on any topic in ESL/EFL and are free and open to all interested parties.   Session leaders (moderators), who must be TESOL members, will receive hands-on training in online discussion management and the use of virtual rooms, and they may be asked to help train future session leaders.   Moderators need not have previous experience in online teaching. Co-moderation with several people is strongly recommended.   Sessions of EVO must be sponsored by an Interest Section, Forum, or other member group of TESOL.

Through the Lens of Social Justice: Using the Change Agent in Adult Education, a recently-published book, celebrates The Change Agent paper's first 10 years of providing social justice resources to adult educators. The book is both a gathering of its best and most timeless pieces and a guide for educators in how to use the paper. It addresses the needs of both new and experienced ESOL, ABE and GED practitioners.

Poetry written by myself since the age of 6 years old! Mostly poetry for kids. Short poems with a lot of meaning.

NaPoWriMo, or National Poetry Writing Month, is an annual project in which participating poets attempt to write a poem a day for the month of April. NaPoWriMo was founded in 2003, when poet Maureen Thorson decided to take up the challenge (modeled after NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month), and challenged other poets to join her. Since then, the number of participants has gotten larger every year, and many writers' organizations, local, national and even international, organize NaPoWriMo activities.

"I've written and performed dozens of spoken word poems, yet I can't tell you in easy steps how to write any kind of poem, much less how to write a spoken word poem. Poetry, generally speaking, defies those kinds of recipes and instructions. Plus, there are no hard-and-fast rules for spoken word poetry. Like poetry in general, spoken word poetry can't be boxed-in. Still, how to write spoken word is a concern for many would-be performers. So, I want to offer some notes, or general observations, on spoken word as a poetic style and form that tends to exhibit some particular artistic qualities."

"Get students thinking of why english is important and how they will learn it. Think up a few categories of things. Transportation, food, tools, clothing, rooms in house and feelings usually are good ones. Next ask each student to get out a sheet of paper and a pencil. As you name each category students must think of the thing in that category that makes him think of english class and why. For example in the category feelings: Scary because he might have to talk in another language.In the category room a student could choose the kitchen because there is a lot of interaction going on. The teacher then invites students to say their answer out loud and reason why he chose it. This helps the teacher to get to know his students and discuss their apprehensions, ideas and goals about the class. Students also get to know each other and find out that maybe they are not the only ones with those feelings. Teacher can follow up by explaining how class will proceed, what they'll do and what he expects from them."

It has clear and crisp explanations and illustrations, perfectly suitable for homework as well as general spoken English learning & usage."

Right now, Luke Neff and I are adding prompts and using labels. Eventually, we want to create a page where you can search based upon subject, type of writing or Common Core standard. We also plan to add some lesson plans and maybe some student samples in the long run. Our goal is to provide a free resource that teachers can use in their classrooms or that individuals can use as inspiration for writing.
