This website contains useful resources in Chinese teaching and learning. You can read Chinese articles for learners at different levels; the pronunciation and strokes of all the words in these articles are available for learners.

In writing my paper for the upcoming GloCALL Conference, I thought it would be useful to provide a bibliography of the many sources I came across while conducting a literature review. The irony is that the list below doesn't include blog posts themselves, as I have treated those as primary sources rather than secondary. I have also excluded more "general" articles on blogging in trying to retain a focus on second language learning (although a couple of works, such as danah boyd's article, slipped through because they present excellent arguments and provide a theoretical basis for BALL analysis).

Arc90, the team behind Readability, is today introducing Readlists, a new website / web app that lets you create your own ebooks from your favorite articles online. The concept is simple: click "create Readlist," paste in whichever URLs you'd like in your book, add a title and custom descriptions, and share. You can export your book in either the near-universal ePub format, or send it directly to your Kindle. Sharing options are pretty standard - each readlist has a public URL for viewing, and a public edit link which you can send to people you want to collaborate with. There's also an embed tool that lets you add lists to your website or blog."

Academic Exchange Quarterly, begun ten years ago as a traditional publishing print-format journal with key editors from the same college, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in Fall 2007. Currently, articles from Academic Exchange Quarterly are available in four formats: print, online, digital, and HTML version.

Abstract Course management systems, like any other technology, have an inherent purpose implied in their design, and therefore a built-in pedagogy. Although these pedagogies are based on instructivist principles, today's large CMSs have many features suitable for applying more constructivist pedagogies. Yet few faculty use these features, or even adapt their CMS very much, despite the several customization options. This is because most college instructors do not work or play much on the Web, and thus utilize Web-based systems primarily at their basic level. The defaults of the CMS therefore tend to determine the way Web-novice faculty teach online, encouraging methods based on posting of material and engendering usage that focuses on administrative tasks. A solution to this underutilization of the CMS is to focus on pedagogy for Web-novice faculty and allow a choice of CMS.

"In 2010, a team of approximately fifteen volunteers from seven different CSU campuses and one from the UC system to evaluate the accessibility of Google Apps. The team also recruited student volunteers and screen reader users to assist with the automated, manual, and screen reader testing. We discovered a number of accessibility issues during our testing. These issues are outlined in the report as well as "workarounds" that can be used to improve the user experience for persons with disabilities. When campuses choose to use Google Apps, they are required to provide an equally effective service for people with disabilities and it is critical for campuses to ensure that the "workarounds" meet the educational needs of the student and/or faculty. The March 15, 2011 USA TODAY online news article "Complaint: Google programs hard for blind students" illustrates possible legal problems that may result from adopting the Google Apps for Education suite.
