Privacy by Design: The Gold Standard is being held at the Toronto Board of Trade on International Data Privacy Day, January 28. Jointly sponsored with the Toronto Board of Trade, this is the Commissioner's second annual Privacy by Design (PbD) event marking the special day. On September 1st, 2011, Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX) kicked-off their national search for Canada's Top 20 hottest innovative technology start-ups.Canadian startups have until October 14th to submit their applications to the CIX Top 20. The competition will take place on December 1st at the MaRS Centre.
The Action Canada Fellows will host a public dialogue in Winnipeg, MB on ideas for advancing Canada's economic future at the MaRS Centre.The dialogue will feature presentations from leaders in government, business and academia. Tom Rand, Senior Lead Advisor, Cleantech at MaRS Discovery District will be speaking at the event on November 4, 2011.

The Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX) has announced this year's Top 20 list of Canada's most innovative Canadian technology companies, which have been selected to present at an event on Dec. 1, at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto. On the list are three MaRS clients: Wave Accounting, Infer systems and Polar Mobile.
The Bank of Canada announced and circulated the new $100 bill - Canada's first polymer bank note November 14, 2011 at the MaRS Centre. The event was held at the MaRS Centre, because it is Toronto's innovation hub.
