Augmented Reality Goggles for Snow Sports! Its amazing :)

Selcuk you are right but it is still very expensive to use it. on the other hand, such as in Football, Soccer, Ice hokey money is not a big problem for federations and they can find a lot of sponsors about it. That is why i believe in a short time they will start to use these kind of augmented reality features to make sports much better.

Maybe after federations start to use and these application become widespread, the personal model of those can be produced at cheaper price. However, I agree with you, price is one the biggest problem at that sector.

I think that commercial can help to increase the awareness of society about global warming effects on polar bears by augmented reality.

A short trailer for the future of sport with augmented reality. We can imagine how it will change the performance and also popularity of sports. Furthermore, it seems that augmented reality will change the way of playing, more challenged games in every sport field.

I watched it before and when I watched Nintendo Wii come to my mind. That changes to habit of game console and I think it is revolutionary. With those applications, maybe our sports habits can change in time.

Actually when i watched it I thought Xbox which recognise you and put you in diffirent games. But Wii also not a bad example. I had a Wii platform but the limitation on that is the equipments which gives you a chance to move without doing the real move because of their calibration, i guess.

It is a miraculous device, I think. When watched the video, it is einevitable not to be excited. Its sale is only for app developer and it is also expensive, 3000 $. However, as it become widespread and develop, it may be a routine device. Maybe changing curriculum according to these or another augmented reality ones. I think, there could be revolution at education with these steps in the future. It gives you a big opportunity to be in the game when you do sport. You can challenge with yourself by seeing yourself in the real sport field. Also you can improve your performance and learn with enjoyable games.

I agree with you Busra, it is very lightly augmented:) We may say that in time you may learn how to run in which distance and which tempo but that is all for now.

I agree with büşra, it a kind of visual version of runtastic with that form but it can be developed. For example, think about you run at treadmill (maybe upgraded version for VR) and with the VR glasses you can go to the any environment from the list you can choose. I think, it would be fantastic.

Doodle3D Transform is a new 3D app that you can transfom your 2D drawings easily into 3D designs. Beside drawing by hand, you can also scan your photos or upload existing ones. After completing designs, you can send to 3D printer and have it. This project attract much attention at Kickstarter and they collected enough fund. This application can not be a sort of augmented reality one, I don't know but I want to share. I think, it is very usable and helpful for especially kindergarten students. Besides, while STEM is gaining many attention at the education society; this app can also be usable at other level with developing some extensions. Creativity is very important for all students at education and it is very appropriate for that mission. Using pen at our mobile education is still can be spectacular sometimes and I cannot imagine what will possibly happen if developers of that application succeed.

I want that! Where we can buy it?:)) Especially for kids it is really helpfull and enjoyable to realize which they draw something. It is like dreams come to the reality:)

This video is about how to integrate technology in PE classroom by using aurasma app. A basketball coach tries to teach three basic basketball skills with augmented reality platform. Also, she shows how this aurasma app is used step by step. Enjoy!

I mentioned at OdtüClass forum abou the flexibility of that Aurasma platform and this video is the good example of it. I think that platform can be fitted to any area with the right design.

Although it is a nice though, it is not very effective for the sport enviroment. While you are practicing, it is really hard to run around with an ipad. But i agree the way of teaching. Maybe they can design a diffirent tool for more effective trainings.

You can view all elements seperately and also, if you put together them, they can from a product that you can see from the screen. I think this app looks fine to visualize an abstract topic which is elements. I agree with you Armağan about the necessity of appropriate curriculum. For example, an activity could be helpful that allows to students arrange the locations of elements based on their atomic radius in a periodic table. Therefore, the students can observe atomic radius of elements is increasing or decreasing when running left to right in rows and running up and down in columns of the periodic table. Like Selçuk said that those applications are used in other fields too. I've seen some works of Bilal Özçakır when I joined at a presentation. He visualizes the geometric shapes in 3D from QR codes. For example, you see a geometric shape from every perspective of it and you test yourself with how top or bottom perspectives of a geometric shape looks like by looking its one side. Thus, you have a realistic experience with virtual objects in immediacy.

I wrote at OdtüClass forum that interested people get learn from the beginning about developing at least basic applications. When I talked with Özçakır, he also said to me he learned the whole process from the online sources with his efforts. Of course, instead of open-source applications; the aim will be be to gain money but I think appearing more amateur applications cause many advantages at these areas.

This box can be informative and fun AR environment for primary or elementary school students to form topographies and simulate real time water flow in geology and science lessons.

I hated geography lesson when I was in high school and while I see those kinds of application, I wish studying at high school now with those technological tools :) I think it can be really beneficial and also gain creativity of students.

I thought besides making sand castles on the beach, primary or elementary students can play sand to learn topographies and water flow at the same time. And yeah why not, for high school students it can also be fun and beneficial for improving their creativity :)

TeachLive of the University of Central Florida is a virtual platform that the teachers can test out their classroom management skills before going up on the "big stage". What it basically does is to place a teacher-in-training in a virtual classroom populated by computer-generated students. A Skype conference call and a Microsoft Kinect motion sensor power the high-tech pantomiming behind the platform. It's currently being used at more than 80 campuses across the U.S. to train some of the next generation of educators, and it appears to be working.

Very interesting. I was thinking for a similar program for training clinical psychologists. Looks like it'll be a thing in the coming years.

This is a very useful platform, I think. Pre-service teachers are facing some problems at classroom management. I always think it is absurd to give classroom management lesson at theoretical and that is the best way to teach teacher candidated.

NMC Horizon 2016 report is up! According to the report, you can see the different types of tools or platforms to be adopted with their respective timespans. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is already here, although cited as "to be adopted in one year or less". The future seems to lead towards augmented reality and robotics.

In my opinion education policy of the countries do not be planned based on the students' academic achievement. Real achievement of an education system could be observed as individuals' adaptation to life. For example the main vision of the elementary science curriculum defined by Ministry of National Education of Turkey [MONE] (2005) is that regardless of the individual differences of students, they are educated to become scientifically literate, the uniqueness nature of the learner; background and culture of the learners and motivation of the learners were taken into consideration in the development of the curriculum (MONE, 2005), but putting those in the practice is very difficult.

Also, as mentioned in the text "… those results come at the cost of one of the highest levels of student anxiety in the world." Anxiety is very important and big research area in educational psychology also the news in the link http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2010-04/10/content_9710997.htm exemplifies its importance in Chinese case.

Wow that was funny! I want to share what happened when me an my friend were trying to assemble my disassembled table:) I was following the directions 'step by step' at the mean time thinking where to put the table according to day light,the lamp and so on when he just started to assemble it without thinking anything, really anything and for sure without checking the instructions. He had a glance what it is supposed to look like in the end and just gave a start. I think this is also the way men perceive the life :)

In this study, resarchers has created a virtual learning enviroment by considering situated learning theory. The results explained that VR features and perceived usefulness variables were predictors for situated learning. Moreover,the results are found to be statistically significant and indicate that situated learning helps to improve the motivation to learn.
