Episode #41 is up for your listening pleasure! Episode #41 features some feedback from listeners of the show. There was too much feedback to fit into one episode so you can expect to hear more in the future. Students worked independently on this project but shared their final products with each other for feedback. OneNote was used for the assignment, rubric, and work pages, as well as the sharing of links and student feedback. Sway was used as the platform for the final projects, complete with text, images and video! Student's strength/preference is to provide verbal responses. Student might answer questions using her/his voice. Student outlines thoughts for an essay by recording voice notes in each cell of a graphic organizing template and then goes back to type in what was recorded. Teachers could use this feature to provide audio feedback. Teacher could use this feature to provide instructions, hints, reminders, or other comments to students.

The AssistiveWare Core Word Classroom is a large collection of learning resources which are designed to support implementation of any AAC system that is based on core words. They emphasize the use of AAC best practices such as modeling, communicating everywhere, and communicating for a wide range of reasons beyond requesting. They will be improving it and adding more resources based on feedback. The focus in this initial release is on schools, but the materials can easily be adapted to home use and use with adults who are learning AAC.
