ImprovEverywhere is a group who conduct a lot of flash mobs all over the US. In this particular video that is on youtube.com. They gathered 207 people in New York's Grand Central Station to do a huge flash mob. They choose and exact second in which they would all stop randomly in whatever position they were in and would stay there till the specified time. They were just randomly everywhere and doing normal everyday things, but all did like they agreed to and stopped. People were just so surprised. They didn't understand what was happening and why all these people just stopped. Some people were convinced they were protesting something or trying to get across a message.

Annotation #2 This video was on a school that made video games at part of the school for those students who are struggling to stay focused. Students are able to do work from computer games made by the schools.

Seeing No Progress, Some schools Drop Laptops I found this article in an old edition of The New York Times, Seeing no progress, some schools drop laptops. In this article the author addresses the fact that in most schools having laptops given to children at such a young age was of no academic successes but instead has been making it a hassle for teachers to be able to teach their students properly. This article is aimed towards laptops being banned from elementary schools and high schools, due to the facts that studies have been done on the academic success that should have been brought on with these laptops were non- existent.

In the article Maine's Laptop Initiative Improves Student Writing written by Anne Miller tells of a program that started in Maine's middle schools, every teacher and student had constant access to a laptop that was provided by the school. While also providing programs for the teachers to help them with using laptops in this new way, hoping to improve their students writing skills while also moving into the 21st century.

Cyber bullying is becoming an increased problem with kids. Kids are bullying each other through text messaging and instant messaging. When kids are constantly connected to the world through their electronic devices they seem to not be able to get away.

In the online article that I read it gave the definition of what a flash mob is and then it went on to explain the origins of flash mobs. The first flash mob in 2003 was suppose to poke fun at society and conformity and in doing it started a new way to conform without appearing to conform. The article then lists different countries flash mobs and the largest one that I could find was an international pillow fight.

In the online article Zero- Thumb Game How To Tame Texting, written by Sara Bernard, directly focuses on how to use texting as a tool in the classroom. This article doesn't look at texting as a horrible thing that needs. Another main topic in this article is how comfortable students are with text talk, that it creates an atmosphere where passive students feel as if they can participate. This directly shows how students feel more comfortable to participate because they are more comfortable with the technology. So maybe this idea of text messaging in the classroom isn't such a mad idea after all, it creates a comfortable environment for almost all students, and creates a new form of teaching when to use the text talk and when not to.

In National Writing Project National Reading Initiative Keywords Project by Marcie Wolfe with the New York City Writing Project, there are many "keyword articles" that have to do with education. The keyword that is most applicable to my research project is assessment. In this article Wolfe compares what peoples views are about what the definition of reading assessment is. She describes it as "data, interpretation, and formal evaluation." She emphasizes on student work over time like a portfolio.

"A novel public school in New York City has taken the video game as its model for how to teach. Students use video games and design them as part of their classes. As Quest to Learn is wrapping up its first year, those behind the program say game-based learning is integral to 21st century literacy" The article took James Gee's idea and really wanted to make a school that bases its learning through video game. It talks about the idea and the system that they created and the article also addresses the issues of the pressure to meet the marks they want to show success.

Flash mobs, in which people in public places break into song or dance routines, and disappear suddenly, have become a more regular occurrence in Iowa, often as a form of promotion.

The new decade of game...

Most people probably feel that Twitter is nothing but a waste of time, and does nothing positive for the individuals using it. After reading this article, I must say Twitter is darn good invention, that has a postive effect and outcome for the individuals who partake in the action.

It is interesting how many people use Facebook as a form of communication between friends and family. Its amazing how people can spend so many hours on Facebook, talking with friends, and meeting new people

Clay Shirky NYU professor, expert on social media, discusses the benefits of social media engagement through: online communities, blogs, networks, and groups etc. He encourages people to participate in online interactions and communities in the sense that people who share common interests can interact online to form new ideas to better their specific interest and culture.

Video games today isn't just for kids and teaches anymore. Gaming have been use in many new and different ways that have helped improved businesses, educations and also the medical fields.

interesting...I like they way they express you can be anyone on face book and how it has taken away from being social. Friends don't need to make new friends in person they can just add them.
