    Kayla Rider January 23, 2010 Overview This site is amazing for kids of all ages! Even if you are a kid at heart, it is still a great site. Also, it is very informative. It is a history site for the United States of America. It has games and loads of information on it, especially information that is normally not found on information and educational websites. It is brought to you in a fun way. I would definitely use this site to teach my students a thing or two about history and to keep them involved with it. I would also use it in the home for my children. Fun and very informational. Content This website provides a fun filled environment of historical facts about the USA and people of the USA. It is provided by the Library of Congress, so therefore it MUST be credible. However, if you don't believe in the title of it, there is a very informative About Us section that will have you believing in the content of the site. It also provides contact information so that you can ask questions about anything on or off the site. Overall, very impressive. Design The design of this website catches your eyes immediately. It is fun! It is easy to navigate through, especially since it was designed with young minds in mind. There is a table of contents and colorful links to navigate through. Overall, again, very impressive.

    Lynnsey Patterson January 23, 2011 Overview: The purpose of this site is to give and promote information about artists in the US as well as to advertise the magazine Art in America. I believe this could be considered a very valuable resource for anyone interested in modern art. The authors consist of very highly qualified individuals such as an art professor of Yale University and a highly respected art curator and critic. Content: This website is packed with content. It contains archives of past issues of the magazine, links to events taking place in the art world, featured artists of the month, books, videos, news, and more. Everything is very well organized in the top margin of the homepage and the contact information is very well labeled under the "contact us" link on the footer. I would however, call this site a little bias in that it only contains information about art in the United States but I wouldn't considered that to necessarily be a bad thing. Design: This site is very aesthetically pleasing in design and is very easy to navigate. Everything appears to be very clear, concise, and appropriate for the audience it is trying to reach.

Welcome to F.A.S.T. Learning - 0 views

    Cole Baumann January 24, 2000 The F.A.S.T. reading website is to help teachers and parents see how to best educate their children or students that have dyslexia. The F.A.S.T. reading program was designed by Mr. Tattum from Colorado, who is very well educated in the field of learning disabilities. The program seems to be a phenomenal success and is being looked at more and more throughout America as a way of teaching how to read. This website explains a little bit more on how it works and how effective it is by showing graphs and charts of improved reading and students. I think that the F.A.S.T. learning program should be available in all schools due to its show of massive improvement for any student who was unable to read or had a struggle reading. These students completed the F.A.S.T. program and came out at a much higher reading level and were able to function in everyday life. The design of the website is very easy to navigate and there are no hidden links. Everything is very large and noticeable and the website interacts with the person using it very easily. If you are looking to learn more about F.A.S.T. there is a big button for that or if you want to see how to help kids as an educator with F.A.S.T. there is a large button for that. There are no hidden areas. Also, the website is very pleasing to the eye. It also looks like a very legitimate website and does not look like you should be getting any viruses from this or any other negative vibe from it. There are wonderful pictures and videos in the site that help describe how F.A.S.T. works. Overall, I see this as a great website which features a great program that any dyslexic, ADD, ADHD or anyone with a learning disability should look at and use to enhance their learning in such a way that they can perform functionally in college, everyday life, and in a job. I highly recommend this site to anyone who has a child with dyslexia or a student with dyslexia. This site will really help.

Opposing Views: Issues, Experts, Answers - 0 views

    Nathan Hissong 1/23/10 Content: An important part of any government class is debating current issues in America. In fact POLS2000 is a class devoted to just debating the issues. Opposing Viewpoints is an excellent resource to research issues. When you search of click on an issue you get a list of articles from repeatable authors who either agree or disagree with an issue. A new addition to the site is that you can debate over message boards (which requires you to sign up). Now like message boards one cannot put a rating on the experience. In high school a student and either be censored or be understanding that some language is inappropriate. Being that the site I a beta site it is put up with the help of advertising. Personally, I find this annoying but it is a necessary evil in this instance. Design: Opposing viewpoints is a very eye-appealing site. I has a variety of issues you can look up. However, in the top tabs they are organized into menus that make it easy to fine a recent topic. This site is made for the ipod generation. It feels like social networking site with purpose. It is one of my favorites Overview: This site is a good research tool. It can also be used to implement the CRAAP test because it does have some questionable content. It is a good teaching tool telling students to fin a current issue to present and then debate it in class. Again a site I use quite a bit.

    Purpose:The purpose of this website is to give students from kindergarten all the way to the 12th grade and parents and teachers information about the United States of America. The information ranges from how the government works, U.S. documents, and differences in state and national government. To me I think this is a great website, it has information for all ages and the information is very age appropriate and covers all aspects of American government, even though the information is not extremely  in depth it covers all the surface points that give a great understanding of government.Content:The information in this website is very thorough, and it all is very credible. The website was made as a service of the Superintendent of document of the U.S. government. The information is very vast and is focused on different age groups. The information covers basics; such as the flag, the national anthem, and what simple things in our government means. Then goes in depth about the processes that each department of government has and the importance in which they serve.  The content is very well organized in which there are main categories of information in which each category has many sub-categories with further information.  Overall I would give this website an A in contentDesign:The design of this website is also very good. The home page starts with the age in which the information is set. Then there are categories that direct you to further information about specifics in each category.  The information is clearly labeled and directs to easily find the information needed. There are also fun interactive games that allow the students to learn in a different way.

    The purpose of this site is to get the word out there about art education and to try and secure it for every young person in America. There are a number of resources stating the importance of the arts in schools as well as events that are happening to get the word out. The intended audience seems to be anyone and everyone that can help make a difference. My overall impression is that this is a good resource for someone looking to help the cause as well as get educated about how important the arts are. The design of the site helps to get the message across clearly and effectively.

    Audience: Anyone/no specified group Overview: The purpose of this website was to provide any viewer (parents, friends, teachers, administrators, etc.) information on how schools and individuals can help anxious students succeed in school. Multiple links are provided on the sidebar of the page, along with some links on each page itself. Overall, I was not impressed with this website at all. Content: The intended purpose of the website was clear, but I thought the overall information provided for this website was poor. It seemed as though each page/link related to the main topic (anxiety) didn't provide any in depth information, but rather links upon links of articles to read that don't even get to the main point or provide the wanted information. You'd have to click on multiple links and put in effort to find the information that you're searching for--- the website doesn't provide immediate or clear information right off the bat. The whole website doesn't provide solely information on children with anxiety, but it also includes information on how to deal with anxious college students, women, elders and military personnel, which could be useful to other viewers. The revision date wasn't provided, and even though there were multiple links to try and further expand knowledge, nothing was really learned. I was disappointed in what was provided from this website, especially since the company, or creators, are supposed to be experts on the subject of anxiety. I would have hoped for more direct answers rather than a maze. Design: The color coordination wasn't exciting, but it was definitely more appealing than the About.com website! No pictures or videos were provided, which didn't help the layout appeal at all, o revision dates were provided, and there were page loading errors when certain links were clicked on. Founding Fathers - 0 views

    Overview: The purpose of the Founding Father's website is for information and business/commercial purposes. The website is geared towards students, or even anyone wanting to learn more on the founding basises for America. The site provided outside links, but it was complicated and many did not work. Overall, this website was also completely impressive. Much of the informational tabs were good to provide an instructional basis, but the design of the site was very poor. Content: Informational-wise, the information on the site, though very basic, was excellent in creating a start for consuming information. The information was unbiased and appeared to be quote excellent. A problem with the site, though, was the lack of authors or easily accessible contact information for the articles and the site as a whole. The site also offered many links to sponsored gift shops outside the realm of the founding fathers. Design: The design of the site was ultimately okay. A basic format was used throughout the site, even though it was basic with few graphics. The homepage has okay eye appeal, but it is not easy to maneuver through the links on the homepage. The site also offered plenty of outside links and sources, but they were confusing, disorganized, and many of them were broken or did not exist anymore.

    Daniella Gonzales Late September 29, 2009 Content: The Website, IB @ PHS Course Information, History is very clear as to what content it wants to convey to the reader. The website explains when the IB history courses are available to students, followed by a description of the course that will be taken by the student and taught by the teacher over the two year program. After this brief description the website explains unit by unit what specific time in history will be focused on in both year one and year two. Than at the end of the website the page shows how the student will be evaluated at the finish of both years. This website could easily be used by both students and teachers because it is a syllabus that shows what will be expected for the students to learn, as well as an outline of what the teacher must teach. Design: This website can be easily navigated because it is very clear and to the point of what it wants to convey. The points are bulleted and to the point, as well as presented in an easy to follow matter. It starts with a description, followed by the course outline and ending with how the class is evaluated. The only problem with this website is that it only gives the course expectations for higher level; it does not provide expectations for standard level. Attribution: Overall I believe this website to be a very helpful tool for any IB history teacher. I would defiantly use it if I was going to be an IB history teacher. From the minute you open the website you can find what would be expected as a teacher as well as a student. It clearly labels what content would need to be taught and studied to be successful in this program. Also it provides the standards that need to be met to pass this content area. The only thing that could be changed or re-evaluated is that it should include standard level expectations as well as higher level. Other than that it is very precise and to the point of what it needs to present for the audience.

The intended audience of this site consists of professional, or student researches within academia, government agencies, or other private companies that are involved in the broad field of ecology. The resources available are a collection of scientific publications that have been submitted to Ecosphere and accepted after a peer-revision process. Additional resources include links to other journals that are associated with more specific aspects of ecology. This site is very well organized and easy to navigate; the content information is credible and relevant to the intended audience. Content: At first look, the basic content of Ecosphere is easily discernable and it is stated explicitly in a brief paragraph titled "About Ecosphere" located immediately under the title-banner of the site. That same paragraph implies the intended audience via the selected language used to describe the site. Information providers are clearly identified for all publications and contact information is provided. We can assume that all content providers are qualified in the subject matter due to the rigorous peer-review that all publications are subjected to. All information on the site is dated and relevant to the demography of the intended audience and updated on a monthly basis. Information quality is superb and everything is well organized. Further information is available and related sites are linked under the title-banner of the homepage. Design: No errors occurred while downloading the homepage and it did so very efficiently. The basic design of the homepage was appealing and very simple, leaving no uncertainties about the content or location of information within the site.     Ffa.org is one of the MOST important tools for when you are an ag educator. We use this sight to sign up for various national events and it is used for a resource for the various activities that take place in our program. It holds guidelines for the national competitions that take place and outlines for speeches that our students give. This website is what allows us to keep up to date also with the various changes that Ag Education are undergoing. As we learn and grow so does agriculture it is starting to focus more and more on the services that agriculturalist can provide since production agriculture is only ran by 3% of the American population. It offers us an opportunity to get more members in our chapter and allows us to help us offer those students a broader range of Supervised Agricultural Education Programs. Ag ed used a series of 3 rings to help us better our educational process; FFA, SAE and Agricultural Education, this sight is where all 3 are combined for us for easier access and information to help provide the public with in the future to help continue support for years to come.

This site is very useful in getting members started in FFA and to learn what FFA is about. Overall, I like this website and will use it when I teach. Content At first glance the user is able to determine the content and audience of this site. The site has all of the information about the authors and who to contact for questions. The material is clearly identified. The site seems to be updated frequently. The downfall is there is no revision date provided. The information is accurate, organized and appropriate for the audience. The site itself worked properly, along with the links within the site. Design This website downloads efficiently and has strong eye appeal. This site is easy to navigate and you can tell where you are within the site. A downfall is that the site doesn't have a copyright date or date site was established. There is sufficient information and is clearly labeled and organized.

      Nathan Wonnacott 9/9/11 Overview: The Smithsonian Institution web page is a great way to not only allow people, say in Wyoming, to access the galleries on the other side of the US, but also provides insightful ways to teach students as well. This website's audience is target to parents, teachers, and even students alike. It covers many topics, ranging from history, science, art, and technology. I believe this site to be a very useful tool in educating. Content: At the first glimpse of the Smithsonian webpage, one gets a sense of variety. There are pictures of various exhibits and links are provided to many others not depicted. It does not appear strictly childish, but rather, for all those interested in America and its past experiences. Once I explored the site, I found that not only do all the links work successfully, but that they lead down a path of well-informed knowledge. The information on this site in not just simple facts, but up to date insight to the topics presented. However, the website does leave out links to other sites, which limits one's available resources to just the site alone. It also leaves out the author, leaving only the sponsor to be recognized and contacted. Design: The setup is both fast and easy to navigate, with organized pull-down menus right from the start. The pictures and references to their exhibit are detailed, useful, and attention grabbing. Activities and games are also available, and help to locate and find new information. The pages are relatively current, last revised on July 6, 2011. Available on multiple browsers, the site is effective and worth visiting.
