The site offers help in many areas of math in order to help with the understanding. Links are provided to get more help beyond what is provided in the site. This site accomplishes its purpose of teaching very well through the example problems given and the lessons provided. Content: This site offers help in order to learn many math concepts, including algebra, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, complex variables, and matrix algebra. Once you select one of these categories, you can then pick a certain area within the subject. It then offers you an example problem and solution. It is very easy to navigate around the web page. The site offers a lot of information and a lot of help to better learn many math concepts. It does list the date that it was last revised, so the viewer can tell how accurate the information is. Links to other sites are provided to get more help. There are very few ads, so you are not distracted from the learning. Design: The site is very well designed. It is not hard at all to get to a certain subject area that you would like further help in. The site is not incredibly colorful, but this does not distract the viewer from their learning. There is a lot of useful information in this site, so it is definitely worth visiting if you need help in math.

Overview SOS Mathematics is a site for high school students and higher for extra practice and review of materials they are learning in class. It is easy to use and has easy access to where students should go for certain subjects. There is easy access to the other links on the website that allow the website to be complete. Content The content of this website is mainly informational about giving review in higher level math classes for at least high school students. The content of the website is complete because there are no broken links or part of the website does not have any incomplete content. The links are all up to date so there are no problems with the other sites it is linked to. The website is well organized and easy to understand. It is worth bookmarking and given to students to use as review. Design The design of this website is appealing to the eye because it is not too crowded or overwhelming because of the content. All the links are working properly and easy to follow. The website is available on all internet browsers. Due to its easy access students can use it not just only at school but as home as well for extra practice and review so it is easy for students to do better in the class material and subject matter. The website is well designed and easy to use.

The site teaches a math concept with a lot of detail, and then encourages the viewer to try it themselves. Links to further pages work properly and are generally useful. It is very easy to understand and follow. Coolmath looks like it is a very useful and fun website that helps students better understand math. Content: Coolmath contains pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry lessons, with many different categories in each. It also contains many math games. Information about the author can be found through this site. The author has a master's in math and is a college math teacher, so she is well qualified to present information on math. The site is well organized and easy to understand. However, there is no date of last revision, so it is unclear about how often this website is revised. Therefore, the accuracy of the site can not be detected. There are a few ads around the outside, but they are not very distracting since the main page is more colorful and catches the eye very easily. Design: Overall, Coolmath is well designed. The homepage is very colorful, making it look very appealing. There are links to go to specific places to learn specific math problems. There are, however, numbers that follow the cursor when it moves, which is kind of distracting. The information of the site looks well organized, so you can go to exactly where you desire. There is a link to contact people in charge of this site. There are also links to other math websites for further reference.

Overview: This website is targeted for people between the ages of "13-100" its means for people who are confused, hate, or are bored with math. Cool Math is updated frequently and was created by Karen who is a teacher and has a Master's in mathematics, she made the website because she had a difficult time growing up with math and she did not want others to have the difficulty that she had. Content: There are math lessons, practice, and games all focused on math. Though this website does not cover a wide variety of math subjects, the subjects that it does focus on Karen did a wonderful job. These subjects include: pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calc, calc, and geometry. This site is definitely focused on the students and helping them. Design: The design is child friendly, very colorful and welcoming. The cursur is the numbers 1 through 6 which is a fun change, the graphics are cute and as a younger student I would have been attracted. The only negative part of this design is that it seems a little cluttered at times but I might think that because we are always taught "less is more" but a student might find this "clutter" appealing.

Overall I think that this is a very good site; I think that it would really help children that need help with math, or need help enjoying it. The author has a master's degree in math, and is a math teacher, which I think helps because she is knowledgeable about math and teaching it. This site could be a very helpful math resource. I also think it is a good idea that it is for everyone over the age of 13, not just school age children. Design The design of this site is very good, the page does not have any links that do not work or that aren't relevant to the purpose. The graphics are all relevant and appealing and they do not take too long to download. Criteria There are many different types of activities on this site that will help the audience enjoy and be better at math. The information is all relevant and the author provides a long page about herself, her qualifications and why she created the site.

Ryan Pinkston January 22, 2011 1) The site provides the information and tools parents need to understand the uniqueness of children and to enable them to help each child develop into the successful human being they were meant to be. Their mission is to help parents develop a positive parenting style that leads to a family where parents and children can listen to each other, support each other and have fun playing and enjoying family activities. 2) Content Credibility- It is easy to determine the basic content and intended audience. The authors of the material are available and easy to find. According to the information given the authors appear qualified to present information of this topic. I couldn't tell when the last update occurred but information seems up to date. The website is well organized and the information is easy to understand. 3) Design Overview- The page downloaded in a timey matter. It is a little boring to look at, however, it is clearly organized and has tabs highlighted in different colors depending upon the information you are seeking. The site definitely has information worth visiting; the information is all clearly labeled and organized. Information is easy to find and the links are easy to use. They have links that lead you directly to the staff that provide the information for this website. 4) This is a website that I would use to help parents understand their children. It has a ton of information that can be used to help parents better understand and help their children.

A website full of interactive games for math, english, science, etc.

Overview: This site is all about interactive and fun games to help enhance learning for elementary school-aged children. You can sing songs, play games in math, language arts and vocab. It is child friendly so you can easily find what it is you want to play. Content: The author is not very clear but at the bottom lest side of the page shows the sponsor which is Time4Learning, a online home educational program for homeschooling, afterschool and summer learning. There are links to all the different activities the site has to offer from fun interactive learning games to free worksheets to online learning. The content is mainly the focus for elementary aged kids. It provides the needs to teach and help children learn new concepts and refresh old ones. The information is consistent and updated frequently. Design: The design is fun and appealing for kids. There are pictures to go along with the links which make it easy to navigate and know exactly were to go. Everything loaded fine and had extra places to visit for extra help.

Overview: This website provides games for young learners to explore even before they reach classroom age and throughout the early elementary years. The website covers several subject areas including but not limited to Health, Spelling, Animals, Science, Math, Art, Geography, and Literature. The games are fun and challenging. Content: There are games for young learners that are both challenging and entertaining in a wide variety of topics. Each topic has sub topics and then a multitude of game options for that sub topic. There are illustrations of cartoons throughout the site. The author is not clearly identified but the sponsor is. The website links to other young children's websites and cartoon television shows. Design: The amount of subjects and then sub-subjects is outstanding. The entire website is geared towards young children which is not only seen through the illustrations but also through the advertisements. The games are easy to get into the first time but after you have gone into one of them it is difficult to get back out to the website's main menu. While it has links for the subjects it doesn't have links such as home, about, contacts that may be helpful additions. A copyright is not readily available. The directions for the games are clear and concise.

Jackson Miller 1/31/11 Overview My first site is an internet site designed to help people learn the English language. This is an interesting site for me, as I want to be an English teacher. The site is really for people who would like to better their English as a second language. The site offers great resources for any student as it has tests and quizzes they could take, basic grammar and usages in the English language, and even access to online teachers for aid. Personally if I was trying to learn another language, I would definitely want a site like this one to help me. It just has a great variety of tools, members, and advanced technology to aid in learning English. It seems like a great site to me. Content As far as content goes it fulfills every requirement. It is a very easy site to navigate around right off the bat. It is very clear what the goal of the site is, and what it is meant for. All the staff involved in making and maintaining the site can easily be found at the bottom. It was revised very frequently, so I'm entitled to believe it is revised often. The information is all laid out in a good order, and they have really anything I could think someone would need when learning English. Design It really is not the prettiest site in the world. It's very bland and orderly, but for a strictly educational site like this that is not a bad thing. It's a very fast site, from all the hot keys. It is constructed very well. It is easy to find exactly what you are looking for very quickly, and everything on the site is aimed towards helping people better their English.

Jessica Chandler January 24th, 2011 *Overview: This is a website for students to practice different types of skills. There are different tabs to choose such as: History, Religion, Calculus, Biology, Algebra, and etc. These skills I found to be very useful and definitely help the students to have a better understanding of what is going on. Once the desired subject is selected, another list appears. This list shows the different topics that can be taught. Some are informational, while others are games. It is a simple and fast paced website to be using.: *Content: There are different subjects for a student to learn about through this website. I really liked this site because it was simple and clear. It made it much easier to deal with. The majority of the links are to assist student learning. It is demonstrated that students use this website to have fun, yet still learn through the selected subject. *Design: The design doesn't have much color besides brown and white. This isn't very amusing, and does not draw the readers' eye, but it is very helpful with the problems that one is having. The games are related to the certain topic and are educational. I feel that the design could be more attention seeking, but once this sight is discovered, the content should catch the eye.

Kandase Quinn 9/5/11 Overview: Made for teachers teaching K-12. This website gives lesson plans for all different grade levels and all different subjects. It is clear and easy to use and I found it useful when thinking of new ways to present different material to students. Design: Lay out is easy to navigate throughout the different links. They have a contact link and the copyright is clearly stated. Texts are all readable and all links and pictures worked. Content: This site has printable, assessments, special needs resources and lesson plans by subject and theme. There are also many other links on this site to get more information that this site may not have.

Katrina Swanson February 26, 2013 The intended purpose of this website is to provide teachers from many different grade levels access to creative and fun lesson plans, printables and other fun activities to include in their classrooms. Content: This website contains a lot of material that is very informational and helpful to teachers. There are links to almost any subject and more to incorporate into a classroom. Design: The design of this website is attractive but pretty basic. It is for teachers to use not students, and this is very clear just from looking at the different pages. Everything runs smoothly and the links seem to be working properly!

Taylor Pilch 09/09/2011 Overview: The purpose of this site is to provide teachers with a lot of resources for kindergarten-aged children. There are a lot of activities with different subjects, and each activity is a link that takes you to a different website. There are a lot of available resources just because there are so many links. My overall impression of this website was that it was pretty cool, but a found a couple links that were too old or would not work, so it might not be reliable. Content: In evaluating the content, the strengths of this website are that it is easy to determine what this site is about and who provided the information. The information quality was good; it was easy to understand and it seems to be accurate. However, I did not find a sponsor for this website and the last revision was in December of 2009. As for further information, it provided links to other educational websites. Design: This website was not very attractive (it had no use of multimedia on the home page) but it was very easy to navigate. It was very clear what was offered in the site and it seemed to work the same with internet explorer as well as firefox. I would definitely visit this site for resources and information, but some of the material is outdated and I did find a couple links that did not work. As for further information, links to other useful websites were provided.

Regene DePiero 9/5/2011 Overview: The purpose of this site is to provide resources for math teachers.  It provides publications, teaching standards, and classroom resources.  It offers a long list of helpful tips for math teachers as well as project and lesson ideas. It is an easy to use site with a clean design layout and provides lots of relevant information. Content: The site offers complete, well organized, and easy to understand information.  Although lacking in any real interactive elements, it fulfills its intended purpose to serve as a comprehensive resource for math teachers.  The content seems to be updated frequently although no revision date could be seen aside from the copyright notice.  The sponsor of the site is clearly listed and links to other relevant sites and resources are provided.  Information appears to be accurate, although no specific author is credited. Design: The layout is simple and easy to navigate.  The table of contents is clearly listed to the left  and is accessible from any area on the site. A similar layout is used throughout the site and links are well organized.  Contact information is easy to find.  The site is lacking in multimedia elements but the links provided bring you to more interactive sites.  There is definitely enough information provided her that makes this site useful to any math teacher or future math teacher.

Vocabulary games for all grades. There is a special section for high school students.

Overview When first opened this site is colorful and bright. It has a lot of links and information. All grade levels from kindergarten to 12th grade are represented on this site. It's a huge website with many different things for enhancing learning. It's a great way to build vocabulary skills with appropriate leveled games for each grade. I focused on the high school games which were very challenging and very useful. This could easily be utilized in a classroom setting for teachers who want to expand their student's vocabulary in a fun and effective way. Content Every grade level is represented which is great because finding effect high school interactive games online is challenging. Each grade level has a variety of different types of games like synonym games, spelling games, and context and definition games for example. They also have games that focus on the SAT's but there is nothing for the ACT's. There is also a section on vocabulary learning resources. There are many useful links within this section that both teachers and students could utilize. For those learning a second language they could use this site to see the vocabulary of the world. The down fall of that part is it is entirely in the language you chose. Design The design is very bright and lively. It is extremely easy to use. You just have to pick the subject you desire and the games that are available show up and they are categorized for easy use. You can find exactly what you are looking for and if you can't find it then it is probably not available on this site. The design may seem a little childish for high school students but the games are effective. The games also provide detailed instructions on how the game is to be played.

Overview: I think this website could offer a lot of opportunity for teacher's when it comes to subjects and unit ideas. It seems to offer a lot of ideas for many units and themes, and also provides opportunities such as providing coloring questionnaires, and other activities easily accessed. This website is membership only to have access to everything, and it does cost money as well. However, navigating through the site I feel it would be a beneficial resource if a teacher was in need of lesson plans or activities for a unit. The design is okay, nothing too grabbing, but the website is easily navigated and a quick resource for opportunities when it comes to ideas for a unit. Content: The content is not so easily accessible, most likely to me not becoming a member for the site. The things that I do have access to seem like fun activities that can be included within a unit however; there are limited items to have access to. The items located underneath the membership field seem to offer a wider range of ideas and lesson plans, so it would seem that becoming a member would be beneficial if you needed ideas for a lot of units over time. For quick access, however, there is little to offer if a teacher needs resources quickly without having to pay a huge fee. What little links there are offered without becoming a member appears up to date and reliable, and there doesn't appear to be a bias with the website, unless having to pay a membership fee counts as being bias. Overall I feel this website would be a great resource as a teacher, the only hassle apparent is paying in order to receive all of the benefits. Design: The direction for this site are very clear, there are tabs at the top to help direct onlookers to different themes and units if Olympics is not a unit needed. Overview: TeacherVision is a website that allows you to pick themes and units that you would like to teach to a class and offers printable's such as games and other activities easy accessed to give to the student's. It also provides links to lesson plans related to social studies and language arts. This website is for links related to the Olympics, which includes history and ideas to provide for students. The overall design is a bit lacking, but it is easily navigated and offers references and slideshows to help understand the Olympics. Definitely something that would be useful when looking for activities and ideas on a unit concerning the Olympics. Content: You are easily able to determine what is on this website due to its easy navigations and layup where everything is labeled and links are provided for each label. The audience is intended for teacher's who are needing ideas, lesson plans, quizzes, and activities when it comes to a unit; in this case the Olympics. The authors for the links are located once you click on the link, and most are teachers or other educators who have used these ideas in their own classrooms. The copyright is located at the bottom of the page which is an accumulation of all links located in the site from 2000-2011. All links currently work and provide a good source of ideas and interactivity that a teacher may use in their classroom. It is very easy to understand, and if Olympics are not a topic that is needed, then there are themes provided for other units if there is something else needed. I would use this site if I was doing a unit on the Olympics. Design: The homepage is easily downloadable, but does not have a strong eye appeal. It is a site for teacher's use only, not one that I going to interest student's. The site is easily navigated with descriptive links for activities and lesson plans needed for an Olympics unit. Overview: I really like this website. I feel it offers a lot of information and there are ample lesson plans and ideas for activities to do when it comes to doing a unit on the Olympics. The design is eye catching and easy to follow. The content if very worthwhile and the lesson plans are written by teachers who have used them in their own classrooms and have submitted them to this site. All of the lesson plans range from 1997-2011 and vary with what is needed to be taught. I feel the website is well designed, very useful for future teacher's who need lesson plans related to the Olympics or other units, and provides significant information as a future teacher who needs ideas. Content: This website provides many lesson plans related to the Olympics that teachers have used in their own classrooms, and this website also provides other units and themes that future or present educators can use in classrooms of their own. When it comes to research, there isn't much offered for that because this site is for lesson plans and activities to use in education. However, while it may not be a good resource for research, I feel as an educator needing ideas and lesson plans this website would be great to use because there is such a variety in ideas for lesson plans. This website is for educators or anyone needing a project for children to use on the Olympics, and everything on it is easy to understand and easy to navigate as well. Design: The design of this website is very eye catching and easy to use. The site title is in bright colors and there is a table of contents to the left with all of the themes offered within the website. All of the information is clearly labeled and is offered for all grade levels as well. The information is significant to what is needed as long as lesson plans and activities are what the researcher is looking for. Learning Math: Geometry Overview: The purpose of this site is to help an individual create a lesson plan or simply learn geometry themselves. It provides step by step process to learn geometry. The intended audience is probably a teacher. Any teacher who needs help designing a lesson in geometry can go to this site and learn what to do and in what order, it has a list of each session and what should be covered to move on. The site itself, learner.org, has many options in different lesson plans from geometry to trig to English. This site appears to be free, and contains legit information which is a pretty good deal. Overall, my impression on this site was that is has good information but it all seems boring which is why the audience must be a teacher, its not flattering to the eye. Content: First glance tells you the site is about how to learn geometry or better yet, teach it. About the site including the authors is a click away on a separate page than the home page. The group seems credible and they provide contact information for any further questions. The way this page is laid out makes it very easy to maneuver around, the quality of the information is fulfilling to any math teacher, there is not only basic information for teaching geometry but extra tid bits one could choose to look in to, to teach. Every page you click onto contains links to other lesson plans or different subjects making it very useful for any teacher. In general the content is sufficient to not only a math teacher but any teacher. Design: The homepage and the other pages load up quickly and efficiently. This website doesn't necessarily have strong eye appeal but when targeting teachers as an audience, and giving basic information it isn't a necessity. Kathryn Slothower September 11, 2011 Overview: The purpose of this website is to provide the knowledge and practice to students in math. The website breaks the skills into different sections which is very helpful however the information that they provide within each topic is not very detailed. The website is more designed for a brush up on the skill rather than learning the math skill. The website has numerous topics in math that students can use. The website has also broke the math subjects into the grade levels for students to explore the website through the grade that they choose. My overall impression of the website was okay. Content: At first look of this website the purpose and content are very obvious. There is information right away that tells what the viewer will find within this website. There was no information on the authors so although the information seems correct from my pervious knowledge I do not know if the author is credited. The content on the website is organized fairly well. The content is easy to find. The topics in math are separated however the website also separated the topics by grade level. It felt like this website was very helpful however it would be a website that was used for a brush up of knowledge because the information on the topics does not explain it very well. One of the better parts of the website is the practice that is available to use on each topic. Design: The design of this website is very interesting. On the homepage there is a paragraph about the purpose of the website and instructions on how to navigate through the website. Although this information is very useful it is the first thing that the viewer sees so the website is not very attractive. There are not a lot of other things on the homepage, which makes the homepage not very busy. There is an index on the left hand side of the page along with the top of the page. Even though there are aspects of the design that I do not like, I think that overall the

AAA Math features a comprehensive set of interactive arithmetic lessons. Unlimited practice is available on each topic which allows thorough mastery of the concepts.

This site is intended for Kindergarten through eighth grade, but is useful for both students and teachers. There is unlimited amounts of practice for various content for the students, but there is also lessons for the teachers. This website is very well designed. It's appealing to the eye and very easy to navigate for yourself. There is also a clear table of contents on the side which makes it easy to switch back and forth from different grade level or curriculum. This website offers a variety of tools for example games, practice problems, quizzes etc. There was also a clear author and sponsor for the site. The only thing I wasn't able to find was a revision date, but the type of math that was covered shouldn't have to be constantly revised. I think this website is very useful and if I end up teaching at the middle school level I will definitely introduce this website to my students and have them use it for practice.

Michelle Jacobsen 9/14/11 Overview- The purpose of this site is more for teachers rather than students. The teacher can get onto this website and type in the spelling words that the children are going to be tested over and can decide if they want to make it into a game, writing practice, or just for spelling practice. The teacher can either have the students get online and type in all of the spelling words or they can print out copies of the game or worksheet with the spelling words on it. There is also an option to become a "premium" member that allows you to have more options; you just need to make an account. Content- The content of this website is very helpful for an educator; my mom is a 5th grade teacher and uses this website quite often to help her students be able to have fun while learning how to become better spellers. The teacher can make a free online account and put in their spelling lists and the students can also log on and have access to the words. Design-The website design is definitely lacking in creativity, however it is extremely easy to navigate and figure out. It even has a video tutorial to help you figure out the site if you get confused. There are tabs for parents, students, and teachers. Overall I find this a really helpful website for elementary educators at any level!
