Data occupies a somewhat curious place within education. Mention it to teachers and you tend to get one of two responses. One group will roll their eyes and with great sarcasm how data is "so exciting". The other group responds with something akin to "actually I quite like data" indicating that experience has shown them that they are members of a small group. The question is why do some people find data to be a useful and fascinating tool while others see it as a good method for inducing sleep? 

Experience shapes our understanding of the world and our responses to it. Our past influences our decision making and constrains our imaginations of what is and is not possible. Understanding this is a crucial step towards change; a first step towards discovering a better way to do things. Until we understand how our experience is limiting our imaginations we will continue to be restrained by the way things have always been done. 

Our collective ability to learn and by doing so, adapt to changing circumstances through the acquisition of new skills and dispositions is what Edward de Bono refers to as EBNE; Essential But Not Enough. - What then might education need as it develops a response to times of rapid change?

The experience I have found is that Unversity lecturers, preservice students and schools (the majority, not the minority) are struggling to understand how to use technologies such as whiteboards in an effective manner. The typical response for change in institutions is to push the technology not the pedagogy. Also, not sure of the percentage of casual teachers, high I believe, is that they go from school to school, where some have smartboards, some promethean and other various models. Where does the education for technology start? In the schools, the universities, the student? or the manufacture who puts out promotional material on the web, hoping this will transfuse into the teachers time poor memory of lesson plans.

Punctuality and regularity are the two fundamentals of a successful career. Teachers are the foundation stones of a child's future. Therefore, they take up responsibility of guiding the students on the correct path in order to live a prosperous life ahead. Improve daily attendance in school is synonymous to achieve better academic results. A regular and punctual student understands the chapters, grasps the concepts and follows the classwork in a better manner. On the contrary, students who frequently miss their schools, usually lag behind in their studies.
