Technology integration is the use of technology resources like computers, mobile devices like and tablets, digital cameras, social media platforms and networks, software applications, the Internet, and so on in daily classroom practices, and in the management of a school. The way we use pen and paper today should be the way technology is used. We don't stop to think about how to use the pen and paper in a class; ideally, the same thing should be happening in blended classrooms.

When the teacher isn't the all-knowing expert, students feel more empowered to take ownership of their learning. Rather than filling students with information, show them how to find answers. Pose challenging questions and allow students to gather information, analyze, and conclude themselves. Having flaws shows that it's ok to make mistakes and learn from them. This is an insightful article. Teachers do not want to spend 80% of their day teaching common core lessons. Since their administrators force them to do so, they spend less time reading about new and exciting facts they could be sharing about broader subjects. To sum it up I believe teachers are being pulled from learning more to teach robotic lessons.

This is a very interesting article. Every student in my class play this game. Most of my students play the creative mode. It is amazing to watch these kids build intricate maps that display knowledgeable concentration. I find myself watching the kids over their shoulders on break for several minutes and being astonished of the problem solving techniques they use to think their specified maps. On top of that, it is a very hard game to play. I never can complete a regular level. I feel like a dinosaur picking up their tablet and try to play this game. I remember trying to play my dad in the early Madden games growing up. I feel like the parent picking up the controller and having no idea what to do. Even though the concept is so simple. There are several learning abilities to apply for the game.

This helps students all be able to get the same information without the hassle of what I like to call 'e-mail tag' when they are not in the classroom, for homework and such. But this also helps teachers get her students on the same website when they are in the classroom. A lot of the time spent in computer based classrooms especially with younger grades, is spent setting up the lesson and getting the students onto the webpage. This will decrease the instances of those issues and quicken the set up part of the lesson so there is more time for learning.

However, it then lists great ideas to use it everyday. This article is very useful for prospective high schools teachers who want to integrate technology more than power points and research. The best point made was that the more preservice teachers are trained in technology the more they tend to use it in the classroom!

I like this article a lot because it has to do with integrating technology in high-school. Most articles are directed at elementary school teachers and how to make it fun for the kids. Well adding a game or an activity that is fun for a ten year old is not going to please a sixteen year old. Most examples of integrating technology are examples of elementary school activities too. So this article is a nice refreshing take on how to integrating technology in high-school.

I found this article perfect because it relates to what we are presently doing in class. This is useful information because some student have a hard time writing down ideas on paper, or even writing at all. This is a very great article, I think that networking with other teachers is how you truly become a great teacher. If teachers did not network and talk to each other they would only know what they were taught in college and not have any hands on experience from other teachers who may have been there for a long time. I also believe in staying in touch with others through social media, it is a great resource.

Today ISTE Standards list digital citizenship as one of aspects, which all members of a school district should support. Today digital technology is growing at a fast rate not only in schools but also in society as a whole. Mike Ribble and his college Gerald Bailey wrote a book called "Digital Citizenship in schools." The book defines 9 key elements on how use technology in school, home and within the community. Among the 9 elements are 3 categories: Respect, Educate and Protect. Respect covers using technology correctly and not stealing others property. Educate covers helping users communicate to each other properly and to use literacy correctly as well as buying items online correctly. Protect covers educating others to know their privacy rights. Mike hopes to have these 9 elements created into a curriculum so teachers can use technology at various levels. Mike wants to make sure that educators make sure to help students understand the issues they may encounter online while also showing the positive impact technology can have.

It is a true balancing act. Because of the workforce skills students will need when they graduate the push is on to have them use technology often and well. Unfortunately, it takes skill to integrate technology in the most appropriate manner and to its best advantage.

I think that we need to integrate technology into the classroom at a young age because the youth will be using technology going forward for the rest of their lives. And for them to be successful in school, they should begin to use technology to help them.

There are certain aspects when integrating technology and how teachers do not use it correctly. Technology should not be used to take away from the teachers lesson, but to help it. It also should not be used for students during their free time as entertainment. It should not be used as a subject of its own, but should be able to correlate with all subjects. Some teachers use it as a pencil, which is extremely expensive. It definitely should not be used as the answer to getting students involved in the lesson. Teachers need to form the correct habit when using technology.

This article may be helpful to us because it relates to all of us as teachers and talks about the resources we use in class that allows us to do our job. In the world we use tools for everything, for example we need knives, spoons,forks,pots,ingredients to cook and if we didn't have them we couldn't eat. The same goes for education. It is also very true when the author says that tools like IPads now a days can cloud our thinking. Teachers can over use IPads to teach lessons when there might be better possible strategies available. There is a fine balance when integrating technology that I think comes with experience in handling and implementing technology in the classroom.

I found this article to be very interesting as well as informative. I really liked the fact that it tells you the instructions on how to use each of the extensions mentioned. The instructions are very detailed and specific for each extension and I consider that this would come in handy for not only future teachers but everyone.
