Very nice table that tells which ELA common core standards are covered in each 3rd grade story in the Houghton Mifflin basal.  EXCELLENT resource for those of us just starting to use standards based grading and the core!!!

Very cool table that lays out the curriculum for students, parents and other teachers. I hope the school I end up in has a lay out of the standards that they want ot cover in there school.

This blog has a lot of cute and creative ideas to use in a first grade classroom.  I plan to use this site to generate some ideas for my future classroom.

This blog is awesome, i really liked it and enjoyed it. this will be very useful for kids. this blog have been designed to meet specific reading aspects for grade 1 students. well done work.

Thanks for sharing this blog. Although I am a Special Education teacher I still felt like their were a lot of ideas I could apply to my classroom. It's always fun to see what other educators out their are doing. This blog would be used primarily for teachers as its all about ideas in the classroom for instruction and projects. However you could use it to create a project choice list for you students to choose to complete so many by the end of the year.

This a great wiki organized by subject, grade level or topic---and has good descriptions and images of the apps.  There are also links directly to the apps on itunes---good source for those looking for apps in a new way!

Hi Mel, Great resource. More sites like this need to be out there to help teachers sift through the thousands of programs available and get to the usable ones that have been tested by teachers. I think I may have got this link from you before. I did share it with a few of our principals so they may pass it on to their teachers.

I like the factors used in deciding what sites to include: functionality, ease of use, applications in education, and compatibility w/ popular ed tech and digital teaching materials. I found this to be a comprehensive list and easy to use. Brief descriptions of the Web 2.0 tool are provided. Would pertain to all grade levels including higher education.

Collaborize Classroom is an online Web2.0 tool that allows teachers to facilitate and create distributed learning communities for their classes.  This is a forum for students to blog on questions from class and extend their learning beyond the classroom.

Hmmm, have never heard of this before, but I like the look of it! I think it's great that a site like this can offer a UDL twist to online work for students, while also cutting down on grading time for the teacher. As a TA this semester, I have finally seen firsthand the incredible amount of time that goes into grading! I never understood why teachers hated it so much, but...I do now! I'm sure most web 2.0 classroom discussion tools have this sort of tracking feature for grading purposes (like ELearning here at UNI, for example). I love that this is a free tool! I do wonder how successfully students would utilize threaded discussion or other online learning environments such as this one in K-6 environments. I think it would be fun to experiment with and perhaps do some serious research and publishing on the results of such an experiment. All about being a teacher-researcher, and this is certainly something I could see myself trying to bring into my own classroom, especially if I was ever teaching in a flipped classroom environment...

I like the setup of Collaborize Classroom and definitely see the advantages of using it in the classroom. Unfortunately, I think our students are overwhelmed with new LMS systems, web 2.0 tools, and websites that they would probably not be very receptive to this site. If CC was easily integrated into a LMS interface, then I would consider using it, but at this point I will keep it on my radar for future use.

Animoto is a creative way to share videos, music, photos, and presentations and turn them into videos.

Ashley, Animato is a great way to make and share a video in a short period of time. I have used Animato with students and they love the ease of program. I used this with HS students, but I know that our grade school teachers have used it as young as fourth grade. Great program - Thanks

Safe to use! It's free to use and share these resources. The information and lessons come from all around the world, and there are over 50,000 documents all organized by grade level and subject.

We are not 1:1, but we could definitely use this in the lab, when we are writing sentences! Such a third grade skill

This educational website hosts a great deal of information for internet safety in all grade levels. 

This website allows classes to connect and collaborate with each other.  Students and educators are able to access their homework, share content, and check their grades on this site.  I would use this for all subjects in order to keep in touch with students whenever they need me.

I really enjoyed exploring this website. I really like the fact that it is a secure website. We sometimes find websites in which can lead us to false information or unwanted information so I feel that this one is one that I would feel safe about including in my own classroom. Great blog for ideas about different apps to use in different subject areas or different tasks.

I have been collecting good app sites. We just got 10 ipads for the grade level and I am still exploring what to do with them. We are getting more and more tools to use and I need to find things that really are helpful for my kids.

This resource is from Capella University and their teachers are teaching many different tutorials about math and science. This resources gives tips and tools to better teach  in the classroom . 

What a wonderful and credible resource! After exploring the site I think I would mainly use these as a resource for myself as a teacher. But I do think some of the tutorials may be appropriate for upper elementary grades and on. In a way, this reminds me of the Khan Academy website. If you can't remember how to do something or if you need a new way to teach something then this would be an excellent tool to turn to.

Great resource! Although it states K-12, I think many of the ideas can be re-tooled for higher education also. It is so great to have the tools so readily available. Why try to reinvent the wheel? This resource shares great, tested ideas, and as you said, downloadable and ready to go!

What a great resource! Thanks for sharing it with us. I will be able to use this resource as I create and plan my themed units for the year. I really like that I can search by theme and grade and then tie that directly to the core. This resource is primarily for teachers as it pertains to planning for instruction.

EdTech Teacher Resource starts with the learning goals, provides tool suggestions, descriptions, examples, usefulness ratings, and ease of use ratings. This website is an excellent resource for any teacher integrating technology in the classroom.

Wow! Great find. Like Andi, I like how it asks you your goals and then takes you straight there and then has ratings. I can see this being a great easy way for teachers to learn some new ways to introduce technology into lesson plans.

This amazing new tool (new to me at least) allows you to create a short story and set it to music using the Google Docs interface. When you are done it creates a short link to share out to all your family and friends. This has amazing implications in education and technology for use as a quick check for understanding, overview video, formative assignment, or quick creative writing assignments.

This looks like exactly what I would like to try with my students to get them doing some collaborative story writing! I would use this for creative story writing, research, and as a planning tool in 3rd grade.

This would be a cool idea in the classroom for sure!!!! Perhaps, they can collaborate and create their story before making a video or presentation - which could also be created collaboratively.

Google Earth is an instructional tool that I use often as a social studies teacher.  However, it can be used across content areas.  For example, it can be used to highlight the geographic connections to the settings of novels, or to take students on virtual field trips to science museums.

I agree with you that this is a great tool that is something that can really enrich student learning. I can definitely see myself at most grade levels using this tool one way or another. I would be interested in experimenting more with the program and finding creative ways to implement it into lessons.

I really enjoy using Google Earth in the classroom. The capabilities of Google Earth and Google Maps (especially with the most recent update) give my students a chance to see places they may never get to see in their lives. I think we are going to spend more time focusing on the use of Google Earth or Maps in my upcoming Global Studies classes.

This site gives activities for the Common Core math standards. Activities encourage the understanding of learning new skills through games. This could be used in small group settings in the classroom. 

This would be a great resource for teachers to use with students. So many possibilities! It would be a perfect fit when learning about landforms in social studies.

Hello, Andi, and thanks for sharing. This is a great website, and I'm somewhat ashamed as a geography teacher that I didn't already know about it. I use Google Earth all of the time, and this website will supplement that well. I'll present this as well to our world history teachers in 6th grade as a potential resources as well. Thanks again.
