Another great website compilation of Web2.0 tools for schools. Great for K-12 and could be utilized in higher education also. Great setup and organization by type of tool. Very easy to use and great Web 2.0 sites. Includes brief description of each site.

This is a great list of tools for collaboration. As we begin to plan for our classroom using some new tools and bringing technology into the Iowa Core, this site will come in handy. A great place to look for tools when you are doing your planning.

This looks like a great resource. I was just thinking the other day how can I use the technologies and programs I don't know a thing about. This has it broken down really well and includes a summary with them. Very user friendly!

I found this to be a comprehensive list and easy to use. Brief descriptions of the Web 2.0 tool are provided. Would pertain to all grade levels including higher education.

I have came across this resource before as well and seemed to really enjoy it. I really enjoyed how it incorporated mobile tools, community tools, as well as presentation tools. I feel this is a very beneficial tool in which I could use in my future classroom. Another thing that I really enjoyed about this resource was the fact that it not only targeted teachers, but also included admins, parents, and students as you mentioned. Great find!

I have explored this site before. It is a good one, in my opinion! It has many great resources for teachers and students. I really like how it has specific links to all Web 2.0 tools. This would be very efficient for busy teachers who need resources about technology and how to incorporate it into lessons. I have not come across any other site that highlights all the major components of Web 2.0 tools.

A great source for collaborative tools for both teachers and students. One of the coolest parts of GFE is the lesson plan search!! Can easily search for what you're looking for in a lesson plan and come up with many ideas and outlines to get you started.

Google for Educators is a very good tool for teachers to use, i liked the way it organized, it is easy to research and find what you want, classroom videos are awesome tools to use.

Excellent Livebinder for finding just the right tool. Web 2.0 resources for photo, video, audio, digital storytelling, broadcasting, visualization, writing, drawing, blogging, polling, avatars and much more.

This resource gives you 10 excellent web tools that you can incorporate into your classroom. Some of them are fairly familiar but others may not be. This site describes each of the tools to give you some information about them so you are not completely lost. This list is worth keeping around!

Interesting list of apps, but it was a great beginning list for sure. I don't see the comment from Samir here so it is hard to disagree or agree, but I do personally believe that some of these tools can be used in our classrooms. I can totally see and have had students use Animoto and a few of the other tools in the classroom before. This is mainly a teacher tool because it provides a link to the resource and then provides a description. There are many sites out there that boast a similar idea, but this one comes from a credible source and is well done overall.

A web 2.0 tool that allows you to share your screen images or videos and share them.

Jing is a great web 2.0 tool for sharing your screen and recording objects for students when they are absent. There is also screencast, quicktime, or even Camtasia Studio.

Jing is an awesome tool and I have used this tool many times sense I learned of its existence two years ago.

As an Elementary Ed major I am grateful for this list of Web 2.0 applications that has the elementary classroom in mind. The tools are fitting for both teachers and students-teachers can modernize their teaching by integrating and including technology in every day lessons and communication, and students use the tools to complete assignments. I was excited to see that I only recognize 3 of the 10 resources on the list; it reminds me that there are so many apps and tools out there! Thanks for a link to great tools.

A great list of tools that can be used by teachers or students. Would be great to have students pick one and teach it to the rest of the class. Something I would absolutely consider for my future classroom.

This web 2.0 tool is a great tool to use to communicate with parents and students via text messaging.  We continually talk of the need to meet students/parents where they are at with today's most commonly used forms of communication. I think this is perfect tool to use to connect with them.

Ashley, Great article that states many great ideas for educators. We are always looking to new and unique ways to bring different things into the classroom. This is a great source to help spread the word of things that work well for others that may for you. We are also looking to throw away things that don't and use new things that may - each situation is different and unique. Thanks for sharing this site

I thought this resource was great and thought provoking for the educator that has access to i pads in the classroom. Not only could educators use this source but parents as well. I also agree with Randon that it has student uses as well. I agree with Randon as well that many other resources and social media pages such as facebook and twitter are available, however the creation of this site gives a different navigational system to explore.

This is a great resource for teachers and students in the classroom. The more resources that we have the greater the level of learning can be. Teachers and students will benefit for this resource. Thanks for sharing

PhotoPeach is a free online tools that allows the use of images, text, and music. PhotoPeach is an excellent tool for storytelling.

Pintrest is something I use to a lot for free time leisure. I have recently come across a board which include Web 2.0 tools.

Google Earth is an instructional tool that I use often as a social studies teacher.  However, it can be used across content areas.  For example, it can be used to highlight the geographic connections to the settings of novels, or to take students on virtual field trips to science museums.

I agree with you that this is a great tool that is something that can really enrich student learning. I can definitely see myself at most grade levels using this tool one way or another. I would be interested in experimenting more with the program and finding creative ways to implement it into lessons.

I really enjoy using Google Earth in the classroom. The capabilities of Google Earth and Google Maps (especially with the most recent update) give my students a chance to see places they may never get to see in their lives. I think we are going to spend more time focusing on the use of Google Earth or Maps in my upcoming Global Studies classes.

Collaborize Classroom is an online Web2.0 tool that allows teachers to facilitate and create distributed learning communities for their classes.  This is a forum for students to blog on questions from class and extend their learning beyond the classroom.

Hmmm, have never heard of this before, but I like the look of it! I think it's great that a site like this can offer a UDL twist to online work for students, while also cutting down on grading time for the teacher. As a TA this semester, I have finally seen firsthand the incredible amount of time that goes into grading! I never understood why teachers hated it so much, but...I do now! I'm sure most web 2.0 classroom discussion tools have this sort of tracking feature for grading purposes (like ELearning here at UNI, for example). I love that this is a free tool! I do wonder how successfully students would utilize threaded discussion or other online learning environments such as this one in K-6 environments. I think it would be fun to experiment with and perhaps do some serious research and publishing on the results of such an experiment. All about being a teacher-researcher, and this is certainly something I could see myself trying to bring into my own classroom, especially if I was ever teaching in a flipped classroom environment...

I like the setup of Collaborize Classroom and definitely see the advantages of using it in the classroom. Unfortunately, I think our students are overwhelmed with new LMS systems, web 2.0 tools, and websites that they would probably not be very receptive to this site. If CC was easily integrated into a LMS interface, then I would consider using it, but at this point I will keep it on my radar for future use.
