I really enjoyed looking more into Mrs. Nessman's blog. I am a huge fan of blogs and love to get new ideas. I feel some of the best ideas are ones in which we find from other teachers. She provides a lot of creative ideas in which I could modify to use within my own future classroom. Thanks for sharing!

This is a really neat blog! I always enjoy reading about new and creative ideas that I could possibly use in my future classroom. Mrs. Nessman's blog is very impressive and creative! I could definitely see myself using this blog as a reference when I am a teacher. I have not encountered any other blog that is this innovative. I can see many teachers learning much from Mrs. Nessman. Good find, Nicole!

This blog is awesome, i really liked it and enjoyed it. this will be very useful for kids. this blog have been designed to meet specific reading aspects for grade 1 students. well done work.

Thanks for sharing this blog. Although I am a Special Education teacher I still felt like their were a lot of ideas I could apply to my classroom. It's always fun to see what other educators out their are doing. This blog would be used primarily for teachers as its all about ideas in the classroom for instruction and projects. However you could use it to create a project choice list for you students to choose to complete so many by the end of the year.

This is a very attractive and organized blog. It's also neat, interesting, and helpful to see what other teachers are doing in other educational approaches. I plan for collaboration and sharing to be a huge part of my teaching and preparation. I feel that the blog author's experience and education will be very useful to any teacher looking for insight.
  •
This blog's simplicity is what I liked best about it. It shows great pictures and is organized in a way that easy to understand. Also, it gives great ideas for early education. I plan on teaching k-2 so this could give me great ideas for fun lessons!

I found the first few posts in this blog to be really interesting, although probably not very useful for me as a future teacher. I don't know much about Montessori teaching or schools. Based on my initial impressions, and the fact that I fully plan on being a "messy classroom" teacher (lots of differentiation, lots of AT (I'm a special education minor in addition to being an ed. tech. minor), I'm not sure how much my classroom philosophy and organizational principals could relate to this teacher's. A very different perspective, to be sure! If I ever have free time (maybe over winter break!?) I'd like to read more about what this Montessori stuff is all about; I'm especially interested in the value of the "Practical Life" work this teacher is doing?? Totally different than anything I've seen in my educational training. Thanks for sharing. :)

This wiki is an open education resource that allows you to connect with other educators around the world and access to free resources. In order to download free materials you are required to join the wiki. It looks like a great resource for classroom teachers of any level or content area. There were even special interest groups you could join such as STEM, New Teachers, Technology Integration, and many more. Lots and lots of resources to look through!
  •
Do agree or disagree that the resource can be used efficiently in your own future classroom? Explain why or why not. I agree that this resource could be used for my classroom. It provides many resources for teachers including lesson plans to implement into their teaching. Do you believe the resource is mostly for teacher use, student use, or both? Explain your perceptions constructively. I believe it is mostly for teacher use as a means of gathering resources to implement into teaching. Are you aware of any simililar resources that should be considered? If so, what are those resources. I have seen websites like this, including teacherspayteachers.com and smartboard.com.
  •
I totally agree that this resource will be efficiency to my future classroom, very helpful resource in math for teachers and students. this is a global website, teachers contribute from many different countries.
  •
Great resource! Although it states K-12, I think many of the ideas can be re-tooled for higher education also. It is so great to have the tools so readily available. Why try to reinvent the wheel? This resource shares great, tested ideas, and as you said, downloadable and ready to go!
  •
What a great resource! Thanks for sharing it with us. I will be able to use this resource as I create and plan my themed units for the year. I really like that I can search by theme and grade and then tie that directly to the core. This resource is primarily for teachers as it pertains to planning for instruction.

Great resource for ideas and collaborating with other educators regarding the use of iPads in education through blogs, tips, discussions, and videos. Great job on your "QR Code Crime Scene" video you posted to the Ning!!! Excellent example of what is possible!! I joined the Ning and will share this with teachers using iPads in our school.

Do agree or disagree that the resource can be used efficiently in your own future classroom? Explain why or why not. I agree that this resource could be used efficiently in my classroom. I have an iPad in my classroom and this website gives great ideas of apps to use. Do you believe the resource is mostly for teacher use, student use, or both? Explain your perceptions constructively. I believe the resource is mostly for teacher use but allows teachers to find apps for student use. Teachers can find resources, download them, and then allow students to use them. Are you aware of any simililar resources that should be considered? If so, what are those resources. Yes, I have also seen websites that provide lists of apps and have included them in my own library.

This is a great resource and one that totally is worth checking out! This is for sure a tool that can be used in the classroom. It is chalked full of great ideas and awesome tools to use in the classroom. This is mainly a tool for teacher use, but it could also be a resource for students looking for a different way to complete a project. There are many different uses of such an amazing ning like this! There are some great other Nings out there, Facebook pages, groups on LMS sites like Schoology, and other websites out there that are similar. This one is unique because of the Ning platform for sure!
  •
iPad technology is a new teaching tool will be used by teachers in classrooms. if will be very beneficial for both teachers and students
  •
I thought this resource was great and thought provoking for the educator that has access to i pads in the classroom. Not only could educators use this source but parents as well. I also agree with Randon that it has student uses as well. I agree with Randon as well that many other resources and social media pages such as facebook and twitter are available, however the creation of this site gives a different navigational system to explore.

This is a great resource for teachers and students in the classroom. The more resources that we have the greater the level of learning can be. Teachers and students will benefit for this resource. Thanks for sharing

100 High School Teacher Blogs To Start Reading - Edudemic - 3 views

  •
This is an excellent list of 100 blogs written by high school teachers. Many interesting blogs that would interest anyone in education and especially middle/high school educators. Blogs cover various educational topics and there is definitely something for everyone!

Do agree or disagree that the resource can be used efficiently in your own future classroom? Explain why or why not. I agree that I can use this resource in the future of my own classroom. This resource gives great ideas on how to use blogging effectively and ways to get students blogging in the classroom. I like how it is organized by regions of the United States. Do you believe the resource is mostly for teacher use, student use, or both? Explain your perceptions constructively. I believe this blog is mostly for teacher use, but its use for teachers explains how teachers can allow students to get into blogging or gives resources to help with their classroom teaching. Are you aware of any simililar resources that should be considered? If so, what are those resources. I'm sure there are other blogs that compile great blogging resources, but I have not come across such a compiled list.
  •
This is an intriguing list and looks like the various blogs deserve time to be looked at more. It is always interesting (if not therapeutic) to read from others "in the trenches." Two that I enjoyed reading were "TeachBad" and "TeachPaperless." Some good comic relief was provided, as well as some interesting ideas! I'm wouldn't say this site is really useful for students, but then again, maybe they'd be nicer to us if they read stuff like this. ::smile::
  •
This resource is an awesome compilation of great teacher blogs from around the country and world. It can totally be used as a resource for students as they begin to learn how to blog or for those aspiring to be on that list to reach a little higher! This resource is mainly one for teacher use, but all the ideas inside these blog links makes it readily apparent and available to be used in a current classroom. There are a number of similar lists out there (take a look and blog the title and a few come up) so this is not a one of a kind list; however, it is expansive and does provide a good list of HS teachers to follow and their regions. Cool idea for sure! How many of these are you going to follow now?
  •
Randon, I'm sure I'll end up following quite a few. Unfortunately I haven't had time to delve too deeply into the list. It is on my to do list though! :)
  •
Excellent source for teachers. I shared this with our English teacher who does things with blogs and wiki's in her classroom. She was very excited for new material to use. There are many different and unique topics in this site which she had never seen before.

A great source for collaborative tools for both teachers and students. One of the coolest parts of GFE is the lesson plan search!! Can easily search for what you're looking for in a lesson plan and come up with many ideas and outlines to get you started.

Coolest think about Google for Educators? Lesson plan search!
  •
Google in Education is a great resource for students and teachers. It provides authentic opportunities for students, tutorials, and lesson ideas for teachers.
  •
This resource would be great to use in my future classroom! I really like how it has classroom tools for teachers and students. I think this would be a great tool for educators to use and refer to. This bookmark could be used both by teachers and/or students. However, I think that educators would gain most from it. Teachers then could transfer knowledge of tools and applications to students in classroom content lessons. From my experiences, "Discovery Education" is somewhat similar in regards to having many resources available for students, administrators, and educators.
  •
Google for Educators is a very good tool for teachers to use, i liked the way it organized, it is easy to research and find what you want, classroom videos are awesome tools to use.
  •
Just FYI: sorry if this gets posted twice. I accidentally posted these far before the assignment was due, and wanted to ensure they are still visible on the group.

Teachers Love SMART Boards - Resources for the SMART Board classroom - 2 views

SMART Boards can be great if used properly with some awesome ideas...or they can be a huge waste of money. This group of educators has done an awesome job really laying out some new ideas and different templates to use with SMART Boards. Check them out!
  •
This looks like a very useful resource relating to SMART Boards. I know that I have really neglected digging into all of the resources out there for my SMART Board, so I think if I set a goal to explore sites like this on a regular basis, it'll give me good ideas for how I could be using my board for more than just a glorified YouTube player. The reviewers of the various templates and activities do a good job discussing what does/does not work or why they liked them. I have not researched many SMART Board sites, but look forward to finding more.
  •
This is very good tool to use with SMART Boards, this will be beneficial for teachers to use in classrooms. It will make it easy and fun for students to follow their teacher.
  •
Thank you for sharing this with us. We are are relatively new to SMART Boards and this seems to be a good one for teachers to be able go out and find material that they may use in the classroom. There always seem to be more material for K-8 than for 9-12 areas. Great sources for teachers to find tips also
  •
This is a great resource! I really like the section that has SMART Board training on it. A lot of teachers in the classroom don't really know how to use these resources to their fullest extent and by having it so they can teach themselves online is great. I would use it if I had a SMART Board in my classroom.

A is for app: iPads change landscape of learning - 0 views

"More fun" that sounds like the iPads are being used for educational purposes for sure!  They must be a tool that connects directly to the curriculum.  Either the student does not get this or the reporter failed to understand why they are using iPads.

No surprise there with the designation, but really - most are purchasing these devices without the proper pieces in place. Sad that it has taken the ed world by storm, but there is no idea how to actually include this in instruction...read on!

This is a great article looking over the iPad craze and the Flipped Education idea in Minnesota schools.  It still makes me wonder what we are trying to teach out students by using these devices - What is the educational goal?  This article also points out the need for an investment in teacher training as an essential part of a technology program.  Check out the sticky notes and highlighting for more information.

Yes, the group is geared for tech staff and those using their software, but they leave it intentionally wide open.
