I like the idea for the math concepts. This would also make a good homework activity - ask students to photograph 3D shapes or angles etc.

Teaching Teachers for the Future - 6 views

This is a great website that I found, it is primarily set up for Pre-Service Teachers to help them build their ICTE (Information, Communication and Technology in Education) capabilities. It even has little packages that you can log into the site with your Scootle account and look at practical hints and tips on integrating ICTs into your lessons in English, History, Maths and Science. Easy to use and quite informative. Has a lot of information about TPACK too :) the packages come in three areas, early childhood, upper primary/lower secondary and years 9/10. There is even reflective video clips from Pre-Service Teachers that have used these packages.

Hash Marks Displayed Instead of Cell Contents (Microsoft Excel) - 1 views

  • What is happening is that Excel is displaying a series of # signs instead of the text.
    • djplaner

This is the problem reported by a EDC3100 student
  • First things first: Excel can store about 32,000 text characters in a cell, but it can only display up to 255 characters if the cell is formatted as text. If the cell contains more than 255 characters and the cell is formatted as text, then the hash marks are displayed.
    • djplaner

This is the cause of the problem
  • The solution is to change the format of the cell to general; then the text will display as you expect.
    • djplaner

This is the solution I've implemented by updating the checklist.

About Me I'm Jenny, an early childhood teacher. For 15 years I've been teaching young children and in my spare time I've even produced two of my own. In between making their school lunches and picking up their lego, I blog about my days at our small progressive preschool nestled in the beautiful Australian bush.
