Another story about a US-based student's science fair project that uses ICTs. Not as visually appealing as the Hello Kitty video, however, this example does show the use of commercial software as a tool in a science investigation. It also shows how the results of this science investigation was later published in a Journal set up specifically for publish work produced by school students.

This software is currently being used at my children's school. It is like an electronic version of giving out 'stickers', etc for good behaviour. Each day I can see how well my children performed in the classroom and each week a report is generated and emailed to me. This is used in conjunction with an interactive whiteboard, where the children can touch their name/dojo character and give themselves a point for hard work, etc.

Magical idea, Luv it. Will save a small fortune for teachers worldwide, as we tend to buy these incentives from our own back pockets in an attempt to engage kids in our classes. Even as a pre-service teacher the little buggers have already cost me......

'It is also disconcerting that some children still do not have access to computers at home and therefore do not have the opportunity of developing the skills my grandson and other 'digitals in diapers' like him take for granted - skills such as using a mouse, finding letters and numerals on a keyboard or screen, typing letters, navigating websites, retrieving files, using pull-down menus, loading CDs and DVDs, uploading photos from a digital camera, using toolbars, saving files, printing documents and files, using drawing software and typing words (Zevenbergen & Logan, 2008, p. 42). Although some of these skills are used for playing games, this is still an impressive array of digital literacy skills, even more so when they have been acquired more through independent learning and experimentation than through an adult providing instruction.' Hi Everyone, This is something that many professional experience students and new graduates struggle with or are unaware of. Please consider you voice health and do some further research or speak to a speech therapist for specific advice.

As briefly discussed in module one it suggests that as a pre-service teacher we should consider including digital technologies to represent mental/conceptual models to assist in the learning process. I am interested to see how this may be achieved? Have you any ideas how this can be done in an inclusive classroom?

Currently I am teaching in an environment with a diverse group of students learning needs; Years 7-12. I have access to computers, IPad, Digital Projector, Internet the list goes on. E.g. Warm Ups are as a whole group on the whiteboard via the data projector and speakers. We have access to E-Books and Audio E-Books and programs like Reading Eggs for all ages.

Hi Tamara I came across a really simple concept mapping site today, which is very quick and easy to use. Bubbl.us While the same activity can be done in the student's book, so it is not transformative, it is an easy and engaging activity. Many of the students I work with as a teacher aid (mainly ASD and II) love using the computer rather than drawing and writing by hand. They can then download and save their image to their computer or google drive for later use.
