    I follow this group on Facebook and love seeing all,of their post. They post ideas and believes that should just be second nature to all childhood teachers though sadly are not. Play really does hold such an important role in the learning of young children, whether it is using the natural environment or ICT resources, allow children to be children and enjoy their childhood and let them learn naturally not through over processed activities designed by teachers that just need to meet paper work requirements.

    Upon researching a 'sharing teacher' - a teacher that is sharing what they do online, I stumbled aimlessly across a weblog entitled Ms. Cassidy's Classroom Blog. This weblog is from a class of 6 year olds in Canada and not only shares pictures and special activities going on within the classroom, i.e. Pancake Day, but also invaluable ICT resources such as Videos Just For Us and Learning with Twitter. The absolute BEST thing about this weblog though is that the 20 students in the class and actively involved within the ICT. They can comment and add any discussion to the page they like about their learning and the teacher provides an individual page for each student which they are solely responsible for keeping up to date, and posting evidence of their learnings. This is an exceptional idea of incorporating ICT into student learning as well as provide student parents and families an artefact in which they can see exactly their students learning and development.

    Kathy Cassidy is a teacher in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. She is a first grade teacher who uses her blog to share the learning of her students with the world. Within her blog each child has a separate blog where they share heir activities and learning with videos pictures and posts. I have found this excellent as it allows the children to develop ICT skills early in their education and gives the parents and insight of why it is a great way to learn and allows them to see how there children are learning. her blog is always updated with will be great to follow for the rest of the semester and future. i was drawn to Kathy's blog as she teaches in the same context I do and reading her blog I felt like I knew her children and discovered more ideas to incorporate ICT'S into my pedagogy.

    I found this blog really interesting as it shows the children are engaged in using ICT in the classroom with their own blogs and videos of their work. It also shows the use of not using ICT with lots of hands on experiences. I think it shows the importance of using both in the classroom depending on what your learning. I will definitely keep a close eye on this blog.

This twin-pronged movement, termed Data-Driven Improvement and Accountability (DDIA), can lead either to greater quality, equity and integrity, or to deterioration of services and distraction from core purposes. The question addressed by this brief is what factors and forces can lead DDIA to generate more positive and fewer negative outcomes in relation to both improvement and accountability. The policy brief concludes with 12 recommendations for establishing more effective and productive systems and processes, derived from its analysis of the relevant research. A report containing model legislation follows, detailing a legal structure that would use data effectively to create a multi-level system of accountability designed for school improvement.

    I would have to say my 'writing roots' didn't really get started until college. I got the writing bug in college, alongside some inspiring teachers-turned-professors who were passionate about helping their students inspire their students. In that environment, writing was democratic-anyone could do it, anyone could teach it, and everyone is a writer.

    Here is a link that is used extensively at my daughter's school with great success. You can set up a personalised learning journey in many different curriculum strands that the student can follow both in class and at home. It can be enough to last the week for homework, the term or even the whole year. There is a built in reward system too.

      I have used new software and packages during my uni course that I wouldn't have otherwise experienced. It is great to be pushed into that uncomfortable stage while learning a new program but the achievement feeling when you have worked it out is great and very rewarding. There is so much out there that could be used in the classroom but you need to seek it out!

      Until I started EDC3100 I wouldn't have considered myself a 'low level user'. I am however making progress. It is challenging at times since there are so many resources that can be applied. Without this course I would have been in the dark about the possibilities.
