      Pintrest is such a fantastic tool for any creative subject. the only problem is it is usually blocked in state schools. it can be unblocked through a process set by DETE and probably well worth the effort

    I played the maths challenge Dragonbox, and was just going to spend a few minutes on this game but I found it fun to keep going and work out how to continue with the problems when I got stuck, until I understood the concept that the challenge was teaching. In a way I was trying to be creative in solving these problems along the way and was learning as well. This idea could be carried on outside the came creating my own idea of Algebra using everyday items. I think that when learning is taking place creativity and innovation are not far behind.       The image below (sorry had to highlight more than the image) is an example of a link to an online resource. It's actually an example of two types. First, click on the image and you get taken to a larger version of the image on another site.  i.e. it's linked to another resource. But the image itself as embedded in this page is actually coming from somewhere else online.  Another example of a link to an online resource.

      Hi djplaner This image has many words that resinate with how I am feeling at the moment including; clever, excited, interested and successful! I am very excited to extend my knowledge of what the wonderful world of ICT has yet to teach me. I just learnt about ICloud and Drop Box today from one of the teachers on the campus. Just loving how everything on the world wide web is connected and through accidental networking I can learn so much! Just clicking on this resource has linked me to another page with information regarding scootle and campus information. How beneficial! Who knew that pictures could be hyperlinked as well as words and URLs.

      An obvious candidate for one of the reasons for using ICT.
  • The website Quia contains games that mimic popular games such as Battleship and Jeopardy. The teacher can type the worksheet questions into templates to quickly and easily create games for students to play during class or for homework. I personally would create these playsheets in the five-minute passing period before my students came into class. They would eagerly ask me to make playsheets.

  • In no education system around the world where I have worked has the introduction of new technologies made teachers less vital or central to the teaching and learning process. On the contrary: As dust settles after new equipment arrives in schools (and eventually begins to work, more or less), and the initial hype around the potential for quick 'transformational change' subsides, the role of the teacher is almost always more central, indeed fundamental, than it was before the introduction of technology.
  • New technologies can, and no doubt eventually will, replace many of the routine administrative tasks typically handled by teachers, like taking attendance, entering marks into a grading book, etc
  • Machines (perhaps even "teaching machines") may also handle some of the routine, low-end cognitive tasks (e.g. posing multiple-choice questions and grading tests) that teachers currently perform
