Seductive Subversion opens today and the show takes a look at the impact of women artists on the traditionally male-dominated field of Pop art.  The exhibition team wanted to keep things simple in the gallery-a spare look, so the pop art would really pop out at you.  At the same time, the team had a plethora of research about each of the 25 artists featured in the show and wanted a way to share that with the public.   So, the goals of this endeavor became two-fold.  First, how do we share the research and, second, how do we do it in a way that won't overwhelm the visitor experience?  Wikipedia + iPads became the answer

""Decode" at the V&A: Digital Reflections and Refractions " The exhibition has been arranged under three closely intertwined themes: Code, Interactivity and Network. A large installation in the Grand Entrance of London's Victoria and Albert Museum clatters away, registering its presence in this historic hallway. Jointly commissioned (by the V & A and SAP), bit.code (2009), by Julius Popp, consists of a large panel of black and white blocks which appear to represent a curious, indecipherable code as they rotate around their frame.

A research shows that most people actually don't rate supportive technology very high when it comes to museum visits. However, the comment section is quite interesting as it shows that this also depends very much on the type of museum. Art museums for example do have a comparably high acceptance of technology (about one third)

I bet it was quite some time ago since most of these things are now readily available online, digitised and searchable."
