    This article pretty much just explains the new development done in Brickell, which we all know BCC (Brickell City Center). But, I wanted to share this article because many people have not noticed the ceiling's design. Or many have noticed it, but just think it's "artsy". Well, in reality it was created to create more air flow in the building to save up on having ac or fans. Since it's an open mall, they had to develop a design that would eliminate the hot sun, collect the rain, channel the wind and anchored to the earth. It captures sea breezes to regulate air flow and temperature, collects rainwater for reuse, and allows visitors to enjoy natural light in an open air environment. composed of steel, fabric and a continuous glass surface, the 'climate ribbon' is the project's flagship sustainability feature, demonstrating an awareness of its environmental responsibilities. This is a great example of sustainable design.

Thus, certain standard criteria were established and should be taken into consideration the type of door, ventilation, motion senor lights installation of solar panels, electric car charge spots, biomass, and renewable energies programs. Society need to be educated on the important of positively protecting the environment especially in the schools. Many resorts/ hotels are now using the reuse towel program and smoking policies. Recently, I stayed at Country Inn hotel in Miami who has enforced the towel program. In addition, Sandals International Resorts my current employer also encourage the guest to reuse their towels by placing conservation energy card in all rooms. Furthermore some establishments are recycling their use water to else where such as the irrigation system. This is a practice that I have seen a lot of the time.

      As a current Marriott employee, and a former Trump Luxury Collection employee, this change that is being implemented is HUGE. While working at Trump National Doral Miami as both a Front Desk Agent and a Rooms Controller, I spent much time operating the Opera PMS system on a day to day basis. When I started working for Marriott, and started using the FOSSE system (the system created by Marriott for Marriott properties), I immediately noticed an obvious difference between the two PMS systems. FOSSE is an extremely outdated system which is solely operated by the keyboard, especially using the function keys. The amount of things you can do with the system is very limited, and for a hotel company as expansive as Marriott, it was so odd to me to see it being run by such an archaic system. As I highlighted in the article, Opera has the capability to provide hotel employees from basically every department to input information into one system that could be accessible to everyone and can be configurable to meet the needs of any specific property.
