Two prominent historians, Norman Davies and Timothy Snyder, were hosted at the Batory Foundation in Warsaw on Thursday, 28 November. The discussion was moderated by Aleksander Smolar, director of the Foundation's board. The full house included prominent historians, directors of institutions and programmes in Warsaw, Toruń and Radom, researchers including Jan Kieniewicz, the University of Warsaw historian and author of books on Europe and Asia, and members of the press.

Seems to have a few sources in there, strong ideological agenda aside. Might be good for teaching the history of the poor or minorities.

These are really useful - I use The "End" of Reconstruction in class because Prof. Blight lectures effectively on topics such as the 14th and 15th amendment, Frederick Douglass, precedent setting SC decisions such as Slaughterhouse & Cruikshank. Blight uses some humor and is a phenomenal storyteller who effectively links past to present.

TimeRime is a web application, which allows people to view, create, share and compare interactive timelines. In its first year TimeRime has become a popular website for schools and students. Students make timelines of subjects from class, or of their own research. They can do this individually or in groups. TimeRime introduces the education account for schools, universities and other organizations that have the need for an advertisement free, closed online environment to make, view and grade timelines.

A list of digital collections run out of Michigan State University Libraries. Lots of farming stuff, for some reason.

A collection of online maps provided by Yale University Library. It seems it might require a plug-in to view them. It seems they are in the process of digitising even further so the collection should grow.

Collection of the papers of Jefferson Davis, the president of the South during the American Civil War. Nice-looking chap.

The Papers of Jefferson Davis, a documentary editing project based at Rice University in Houston, Texas, is publishing a multi-volume edition of his letters and speeches, several of which can be found on this web site. The site also provides extensive information on Davis and his family and numerous images.

This collection of Middle English texts was assembled from works contributed by University of Michigan faculty and from texts provided by the Oxford Text Archive, as well as works created specifically for the Corpus by the HTI.

Has about 150 Middle English texts and growing.

The Japanese Historical Map Collection contains about 2,300 early maps of Japan and the World. The collection was acquired by the University of California from the Mitsui family in 1949, and is housed on the Berkeley campus in the East Asian Library. Represented in this online collection are over 1100 images of maps and books from this Collection.

Hi, Lindsay, I am so sorry this took so long to get to you, I've been up to my ears in work and other stuff. I just couldn't steal the five minutes to write to you. Sad, I know. :) Ryan was my protege and he's such a great guy! He's talked about you and Morristown H.S. and what a great place it is. I went to Randolph and all of my relatives on my Mom's side graduated from Morristown H.S. starting back in the 1930s! Lots of history there, and I love Morristown! When I get permission to do pilot testing I will ask if we can send you the link and let you try stuff out there and give us feedback.
