Sorry, this isn't a site with sources or resources for history but I've been asked a lot lately about podcasting and I thought newbs (my students recently taught me that word) might find this useful. It has some information on key terms, how to set up classroom podcasting, etc. I found podbean.com really useful for that.
This is an interactive animated map showing information on immigration into the US since the mid-19th century. You can choose a group and a time period and then get a map showing how those people setting in the country at that time.
An excellent collection for research into the medieval period. Contains extensive descriptions of the manuscripts along with detailed accompanying information and is easily searchable. An enormous and diverse collection. Gotta love those Benedictines in Minnesota.
These are a comprehensive set of pretty-good-quality maps covering just about every decade in Europe since the early C16th. They have some accompanying information which seems reliable enough.
Most of the information from this site is secondary, however it has some quotes from ancient authors in context and some beautiful images. The site maintains that the images are copyright and should be used only with permission and of course we'll do that. Of course.
Collection of audio files of key speeches, etc from modern history. There's also Agassi's Farewell to Tennis - one of the truly defining moments. Einstein, Hitler, King, Bush - an eclectic mix.
Of course these comrades have no ulterior motives in providing the material. Of course. DEATH TO THE CAPITALIST PIGS! Of course. Still valuable as a source of historical information though.
Has quite a bit of modern information (which isn't too bad though suffers from the usual brevity and superficiality which afflicts internet secondary sources) and some primary documents if you follow the links.
A site run by people really into their rocks. Has information and some high-res images of standing stones, stone circles and other prehistoric megaliths from Western and Southern Europe. Good for prehistoric Europe, the Celts or archaeology, I guess.
It's a secondary source and the information is fairly cursory, yet as it is organised around the different nations around the world it might be useful for preliminary or geographic research.
