It doesn't give a generic textbook definition, but rather puts it into terms that are not only interesting but easy to understand. How this influenced my thinking: It allowed to be better understand what the textbook had already explained. I was able to see real life examples of these definitions. Credibility of source: Very credible, there were tons of references and the author appears to have done extensive research prior to writing this.

How this influenced my thinking: We hear a lot of stories of infants immediately calming down or ceasing to cry when they hear a familiar voice, so it seems only natural that infants can recognize mother's voice from other female voices. It is also interesting that infants can distinguish between their native language and foreign languages. Credibility of Source: This study was published in Infant Behavior and Development, a journal. It seems highly credible.
