Google Easter Egg Brings a White Christmas to Your Web Browser | Webmonkey | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
Everyone who has Google Chrome must of seen this coming. If you were to type in "let it snow" in the search box, the search results page will begin to fill up with frost and snow. Oh, but i'm not done yet. Once your screen is starting to fill up with snow, you can draw on it, IT'S JUST LIKE MAKING A SNOW ANGEL BUT ON THE COMPUTER! And when you want to clear the frost away, you can click the "defrost" button. If you want more easter eggs from Google, you can type in "DO A BARREL ROLE" (FROM STAR FOX) causing your screen to spin. Also check out "TILT" "ASCII ART" AND "RECURSION"

Zamzar Converts Images, Documents, and Other Files Directly Over Email - 0 views

  •
I think this is a great idea to do. Zamzar makes it much easier fro us now to read/see things that are emailed to us. It's also more reasonable because almost everyone has smart phones nowadays and if you wanted to read an email on your phone but it needed converting you could just use Zamzar. You wouldn't have to wait until you were able to go home and use your laptop. The only downfall is that you need a paid account on Zamzar if you wanted to convert more than 1MB of files.

New Invention Helps Cut the Mess of Cords - 0 views

  •
Are you tired of taking out your earphones and they are a tangled mess? Well now they have a "winder" that allows you to roll up earphones, usb wires, etc. Now you will not have to worry about a mess of wires under your computer, or a bunch of wires in your pocket(earphones). You can also fit cellphone earphones with the microphones on them. You can get a medium or large one for $9-10. This relates to the course because earphones plug into hardware's and it makes it more easier for everybody.
  •
Don't you just hate it when your cord in your pocket gets all tangled up and it takes FOREVER to untie all the knots and stuff. well now you don't need to worry because inventor David Alden designed the Recoil Winder. Just a simple device, pull the middle cord, and it rolls up. Basically a spring mechanism inspired BY TAPE MEASURES! The recoil winder comes in three sizes. Small size for iPod earbuds, medium for the charger cord for an iPhone, and large is for a USB cord. Recoil Winder is funded by Kickstarter, for 8$ you can get the small recoil winder, 9$ for medium and 10$ for large. 30$ for all three along with the rack. Shipping will be in April.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Apple iPhone 4S head to head review - reviews for UK IT profession... - 0 views

  •
This article is about the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4S. Both phone are in the major types of phones that are hitting the markets for the past year. There is a major difference between the two phones, the software is built differently. Until recently, Apple, the company that produced the iPhone, has been using Samsung parts into their new phone, the iPhone 5. There is a bigger difference between the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S3, the size, the screen the bigger, it is much lighter and also the phone is built curved because it would be easier to talk on the phone with. Even though the iPhone has a longer battery life, a Samsung android, will be still able to last you the day without any lag or difficulty. Personally, I like the Samsung S3 better because with the iPhone, Apple comes up with a new product each year over $500. To be honest I wouldn't really spend the much money on a phone that has another series coming out. Another reason why I would rather choose a Samsung Galaxy is because it would be nice to have a challenge with dealing with a phone than having ios which is fairly simple.

7 Years of Facebook: A Retrospective - 2 views

  • hrough the years, the social network has transformed from a college-only social hub to the most popular website in the world. Five hundred million users, billions of pageviews and a never-ending supply of embarrassing status message updates after its launch, we’ve decided to take a trip down memory lane. Back in February 2004, did anyone have any idea that a college social networking site could redefine the Internet era as we know it? We doubt it. Mashable created this gallery

ebooks now passing books - 0 views

  •
the change is starting, ebook sales are finally passing printed book sales. I don't think that this will affect anyone in the developing world. book collectors can still collect books, but just digitally. the publishing business can still make profit, by selling these books, emagazines are making more sales than printed ones as well. the world is evolving, and the article said that by approximately 2025, printed books will be obsolete, and a new form of getting information will be in effect.

29-Year-Old Deaf Woman Hears Her Voice for the First Time [VIRAL VIDEO] - 2 views

  •
Technology is just amazing these days and surprises us all. Sloan Churman was born deaf and for 29 years she has relied on reading lips and hearing aids. About 8 weeks ago she had an implant called The Esteem Implant by Envoy Medical and for the first time Sloan was able to hear her voice. Just wish that the expenses for these things were a bit cheaper, that way more people would be able to get this implant.

Though Internet Explorer is still reigning as the most used browser. There is one other, though, that may challenge it's reign: Chrome. Right now, Chrome and Firefox are battling for the number two spot. For the longest time, Firefox held that place; now - times they-are-a-changin'. Chrome's usage has grown by 50%, and is expected to take over second place by Christmas time. Not only that, but Internet Explorer is also expected to fall sometime soon, though it is hard to say specifically. Chrome is doing well, for the reason specifically that it is surpassing all, others, and a fan favorite, so to speak.

Disney Mobile Japan Announces Two (Cute) Android Phones | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
We all knew this was coming -  Disney had to reach out to people over the age of eight. Just yesterday, Disney announced the release of two Android Phones - in Japan, that is. The DM010SH will be released in October, followed by the DM011SH in December. The first appears to be based on Sharp's AQUOS 009SH, and the next on the AQUOS 007SH. Special features included on these phones will be disney-themed applications (e.g. calculator, calendar, alarm clock, etc.), and home screens featuring Disney characters. An interesting idea, and one should wonder what would happen if they were to come here.
