10 Apps for Finding Apps - 0 views

  •
This article, "10 Apps for Finding Apps" may be appealing to one because it is convenient for someone who has difficulty finding a specific app. When I am trying to find an app for my phone it's usually difficult for me to come up with a certain name that that one app might be under. This new technology allows you to find apps that are relevant to you, which makes it easier for one to find. This is also helpful because you will not waste any time having to search to find the app that fits your need at that moment.

Siri Might Be Speaking Three New Languages by March - 0 views

  •
Siri is very useful to those who want to find an answer easily, or want something done quickly, Siri is able to do just that. Apple is now introducing advanced technology as is currently in progress of having more languages spoken. This technology is so advanced that now those who do not speak English very well, or can't speak it at all now might be able to have that option that they can talk to Siri in their own language without discomfort. I find this to be very fair and open to all those around the world and Apple is doing an excellent job at expanding their cultural impact.

DARPA's 'Avatar project' aims to give soldiers surrogate robots, make James Cameron pro... - 0 views

  • h a semi-autonomous bi-pedal machine and allow it to act as the soldier's surrogate." DARPA isn't talking about simple remote control rigs, either -- these 'bots are being designed to clear rooms, and facilitate sentry control and combat casualty recovery. The new budget also sets aside $4.1 million to design laser countermeasures to protect military weapons, well, lasers -- ensuring that the future's robot soldiers will be nigh indestructible when they rebel against their human hosts. I guess in the future, wars won't be called "bloody" anymore because these guys, namely DARPA, are creating robots that would take the place of human soldiers. With the use of complicated interfaces and algorithms, they are aiming to enable these robotic avatars to effectively partner with their respective human soldiers. Amazing but at the same time scary because the more technological advances in weaponry means the more destructive the war will be. Another thing is they are trying to make these soldiers indestructible as possible. What if those robots start a rebellion or something? Just saying.

What Would It Take For Apple to Make a New iPad Truly Exciting Again? - 0 views

  •
The new iPad wasn't the most surprising outcome. I personally thought it would look way different. But, here are ways that could of made the iPad much surprising. Everyone want's long battery, so it could last for a while, nobody would want smudging on the screen, and of course nobody would want cracks on their screens.  Those are some examples that would impress the Apple customers.

LG made the first 55-inch OLED TV which , and it will cost $8,000. The timing jibes with what we heard at CES, but it's the first solid word we've heard as to what the future of beautiful television is going to cost us. Eight thousand. That's a lot of money-more money than most people have to spend on a TV, by a longshot. But it could've been a lot worse! Samsung's current top of the line 55-inch LCD TV runs around half that-and it's using old, old technology. OLED will be out of reach for almost everyone, but, like everything else, it'll slide cheaper, and cheaper in a (relative) hurry. Especially when LG, Samsung, and the rest realize nobody can afford this. It realtes to the course because its technology.

These iPods are always improving and changing size that seems to best suit people in many ways. Technology always has a huge impact on people and the way they  use things. These iPods have a social impact throughout and will continue to do so. Some people want an iPod that is strictly for music, and there are iPods for that. Samsung tweaking Face Unlock to require blinking, smiling still optional -- Engadget - 0 views

  •
When your friends get into your phone and know your password it can get quite annoying. Now Samsung has an app that allows you to open your phone with facial expressions. You can blink a certain amount of times and smile and then it will open. This amazing because there has never been something like this before. It relates to the course because you need the software and app to get this on your phone. I personally like this because it would be fun to unlock your phone with facial expressions. It makes a social impact because then it will be harder to hack your friends phone. Overall, I think this was a great idea Samsung brought up.

Internet Explorer: The Browser You Love to Hate | Webmonkey | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
This article explains how Microsoft is attempting to attract users to the browser IE9 (internet explorer 9) by mocking the previous versions of IE. I think that if they must promote any of the browsers they might as well promote the latest and most updated version of it. Since internet explorer has another browser that has more features and is more useful than IE9 they should focus on attracting users to that browser. Also, IE10 has features that can compete with google chrome, firefox, and safari, whereas IE9 does not. In my opinion I find this is a very poor marketing strategy on Microsoft's part and it will not get them any further in terms of higher user rates for internet explorer.

How the iPad Will Fit Into Your Future Smart Home - 0 views

  •
People use iPads to read, watch videos, play music and so much more. Now, they will also be able to control things from within the home with their tablet. Sources say that the iPad will soon be able to control your t.v., and Control4, and company based in Utah has already started thinking past this. They have an iPad app which can be used to control security features, lighting, temperature and entertainment media. Not only would you be able to access the things from your home while you're at home, but also while you're out. You could turn up the heat in your house before you came in or turn off the lights if you forgot to do it when you left. This app also turns iPads into a surveillance system. You would be able to see what's going on around your house but for a much cheaper price. I'm sure this is something many people would like because it means less work for everyone.

Sharing-Friendly Shazam 5.0 Recognizes Music in a Second [VIDEO] - 0 views

  •
Shazam has come out with it's newest version, 5.0 for iPod and iPhone users. The changes to this new app is faster speed, better layout, and ability to connect to other social networks. Some people claim that it is THE fastest music app. Shazam claims that their app can identify a song in 1 second, and when tested it only took 3 seconds. This is a huge improvement to the older model which took 10 seconds. I remember having Shazam on my blackberry and having to sometimes wait for almost 30 seconds to get a song identified. This shows that Shazam has come a long way. People are also now allowed to comment on the music they found and share it with their friends on facebook and twitter. In addition, Shazam has added language support for over 30 different languages. making Shazam more universal. I'm sure that this new model will make Shazam a lot of money.

Google Glasses First Look: Would You Wear These Augmented Reality Specs? - 0 views

  •
This article explains the latest in Google's innovations - augmented reality glasses. These glasses allow the user to receive notifications from their phone that will help will everyday struggles such as knowing the weather or the status of highway traffic. I think these glasses are extremely pointless unless they offer other features. I find it easier to check my phone rather than wear futuristic -like glasses the whole day just to inform me of quick notifications. However I am still looking forward to see what other features these glasses will offer and if the look of these glasses will change (hopefully they will look better than these prototypes).

These plants are "rigged up" and they don't wilt for nearly a year. That's pretty cool!
