You know that scene in CSI and its ilk where the detective says, "Can you enhance the image?" and some faceless tech hits a few keys and suddenly the license plate is clear and readable? Nerds have been mocking those scenes for decades, but it might be time to stop.

Photoshop, the funniest and my favorite drawing program, just relesed a filter called "unblur" which does what it says, it's like the movies of how you see nerd's unblur a camera shot and find the license plates or what not, now it's time to stop looking at the movies and have the effect to yourself. But you can still use other things for photoshop...

HP has recently come out with their new Music Influencer program. they have started a new talk show where celebrities go on to talk about their music and answer questions. with this new program think this will help bring up HP's popularity. this new Music Influencer sounds pretty cool and i think it would help HP a lot.

Do you love Starbucks coffee and want to learn more about your cup-a-joe? Then you're in luck. Starbucks is launching a QR code program which will let consumers learn more about their coffee. These codes can also provide additional information, most likely in the form of a video, about coffee sold at the stores. Some may provide a sample of music that people listen to in the region where the coffee was picked and found, or a description of just how great the coffee is, done by coffee experts. Whoa. Starbucks is working with Scanbuy on this initiative, who have previously worked with The Home Depot and Taco Bell. So, you get a background check on your coffee. That's useful, right?

Siri may have given Apple the boost they needed to remain on top and above Google. They may have given themselves at least a two-year advantage over Google in the on-going battle for the best smartphone platform. Siri crossed the threshold of being able to directly communicate with your device, and it is huge. Google has a program called Voice Actions, but Siri really understands what you mean. And it's personable. For example, it responds to "I love you, Siri," with "I love you too." Why shouldn't Apple be on top? They have cracked a code that Google has yet too, and the technology for this will haunt the people at Google's nightmares for the next long while.

Cameras are so annoying. Like, you have to HOLD them to take a picture! Honestly. As you've no doubt thought at least once before in your life, while taking a picture, "can I just throw the camera?" Well, apparently the people from this company have, and so created a camera that you can throw that takes pictures, and have thus christened it, the "Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera." Suitable name. This camera can allegedly take 360-degree panoramic photos, simply by throwing it up into the air, which is probably where they got its name from. You throw the camera directly into the air, and when it reaches the apex, all 36 cameras automatically take a picture. Using a specific computer program, these pictures are digitally stitched together, and you are able to navigate your own way through the 360-degree picture. Watch the video, and you'll see that the results are very impressive. The drawbacks? The ball cannot spin when it is thrown up into the air, and don't even THINK about dropping it, because despite the foam padding, it will be ruined if it drops. Maybe you should bring a catcher's mitt on your trip. And it's HUGE. Like, soccer ball huge. Where on Earth are you going to put this thing, anyways? Certainly not in a purse or a pocket. Innovative, and a step forward from the old-fashioned cameras everyone still uses today, and yet very impractical.

PushBullet is a new computer and mobile app that allows notifications and other files to be transported from any device on the same account. The app comes with many features out of the box, such as the ability to share files between phones and computers with the click of a button, or having notifications on every device you own. The software is fairly new but it is being updated constantly and always changing. It can also be incorporated into stocks, or packages being delivered. I feel that this new app will solve many of the problems of software being seamless throughout devices. Windows media play, and other programs have tried the same thing and failed. I believe PushBullet can fix all of these problems.

This article is of interest to me because it explains what the best processor is for gaming. I have always loved playing video games and I am constantly on the computer but now I can do both. Apparently around 650,000 mac computers were infected with Trojan horse virus called "Flashback" This trojan is hijacking people's search engines in result of their web browsers it pretty much damages the inside of the computer, it also steals banking or log in credential.  Cyber criminals could send new malware to their systems that cause bigger problems. This flashback was designed to conduct a click fraud scam.  Apple released a security patch for Java  that prevents Flashback Trojan from infecting your computer/mac.  

This article talks about how they are thinking of making ATM machines that can read your palm. It can access your account just by scanning your hand. Then you can easily take out money without scrambling for your credit card. Now you don't need to worry about losing your credit card or even forgetting your pin number. I believe this is a good idea because it can make it easier for everyone to just scan their hands and get the proper amount of money out. I personally like this method better than using credit cards. This relates to the course because it takes a lot of programming to get these ATM machines to work, and also the actual ATM machine is a hardware.

Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank in Japan has revealed that it will introduce the nation's first ATM that lets you withdraw money just by scanning your palm. You wouldn't even need your credit card to verify that you can withdraw money from your account. I think this is a great idea. In Canada, we already have the device where it scans your chip, but it doesn't always work. For example, my dad had to send back his credit card 3 times before he finally got the chip to work. This is also very safe because every person has a different hand shape and "design" on their palms, no one would be able to imitate it. I hope that they come out with this machine in Canada soon, i'm sure it would be less stressful for many people.

This article talks about how in Japan they will soon have ATMs that let you withdraw money just by scanning your palm. This will come in handy when you have lost your card. Customers would first have to show identification for verification then they would scan your palm and can easily withdraw money from the bank. This new type of technology can be convenient because there would be less people stealing credit cards from other, and can withdraw anytime even when you forget your card.

Though this only applies to Mac users mainly, a new free app has been released to detect and remove a harmful trojan called Flashback. The Flashback trojan has infected half a million of Mac users already but with this app it's a simple task of clicking and waiting for the diagnosis to see if you're Mac has been infected itself. Although I am not a Mac user, I still think this is helpful for the many that are in need of removing such a virus.

This article talks about google and its effect on our society. Google+ now has 170 million users abd is becoming a NO.3 Social network. However if you go by active monthly users in the U.S., Google+ would rank 6. This relates to our course because we too use google and many people starts to use a lot of social networking programs as part of their daily lives. All of my friends has signed up for st least 2 social networking and it;s becoming a big part of our lives. Google used to be popular for searching things but now it's taking over social networking as well and becoming most popular and well known network. 

Google+ is said to be rated the third most popular social networking site. However, numbers of users are always changing. Google+ has recently changed their look of their website, which may or may not attract more users. Many people are reliant on social networking sites because they find it is a better way to keep in touch with those you do not see anymore. Google+ is still far behind facebook, with 850 millions users, while Google+ still sitting at a 170 million users. Technology is what everyone in this generation is doing, so the numbers will increase once more people start talking more about Google+ and less about Facebook.

Google+ has decided that it is time they make a new look for their social networking site. The new design allows you to drag apps in whatever particular order you would like. Also, the timeline pictures are bigger so it is easier to view. Google+ also came out with a new addition, chat. The web designing for this page is similar to Facebooks; when viewing pictures on a timeline. The new look on Google+ will allow people to be more organized and nicer to look at. As web designers, they are supposed to catch the viewers eye. If a site does not appeal to the viewer they will not even bother looking into the website. By creating this new look, google+ is hoping to have more additions to their site. They designed this new look for Google+ to more flexible for people when viewing profiles, and it is evident because that is what most people want. They prefer when things are made easy for them.

This article talks about new apps in apple called Magic Reader Flips. This app is used to turn pages without using your hands. By nodding your head, pages can be turned. You just turn your head left or right and MagicReader will move to the next or to previous page. Once it detects your face, you can move your face to change the pages. This app was was created for people who didn't want to flip pages with dirty hands. however it is only used on PDFs documents. This relates to our course because this app represents how much our technology has improved since the past and how much we are dependent on it because every app is becoming famous and is used to make our lives easier. This is kind of sad because we are too dependent on technology that we have hard time living without them and we use those technology to do such a simple tasks such as flipping pages. 

This article is about the Magic Reader, it is like an iPad but it responds to your head movement rather than the touch from your finger. The pro of this is that you wouldn't need to touch the screen and get it all dirty and greasy like what would happen on the iPad if you were reading on eReader. The Magic Reader takes one second to scan and recognize your face and every time you would nod the page will turn wherever you would nod your head towards. I think that it is convenient but after a while I think that I would get annoyed after constantly nodding your head instead of simply sliding your finger gently.

But some say there is no "post- PC" era because PC's were just the beginning of a much bigger computing era. Either way, PC's were the first of something that would and already has drastically changed our lives.
