Iron Man 3 Trailer Is Ridiculously Amazing - 0 views

  •
In the movie Iron Man 3, Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., loses his entire life to a man named Mandarin, played by Ben Kingsley.  Iron Man loses all his suits and his entire private life and starts hunting for who was responsible for doing all this to him.  When he goes on this quest he needs everything at his disposal to help him and keep him from losing his cool.  This movie is going to continue where the Iron Man 1 and Iron Man 2 Movies left off.  Mandarin is a classic Iron Man enemy so to have him in Iron Man 3 is just mind blowing.  Iron Man 3 comes out May 3, 2013.

Man arrested over bizarre hacking campaign involving cat - 0 views

  •
This article is about a man in Tokyo who sent many mass killing threats to a comic book event and many schools. Each threat would be followed by a riddle. The man hacked computers and sent messages to newspapers and broadcasters saying that details of a computer virus used to send the threats were strapped to a cat living on an island near Tokyo. Police found the cat and with it found a message that said that no more messages will be sent. Police analyzed the memory card and footage taken by security cameras and suspect that Katayama -a resident of Tokyo- was responsible for the hacking campaign. This article is a prime example of the dangers of computing and shows that the security of our computers is still not perfect and can be breached. I see this man's act as a childish call for attention and believe that this man should grow up and "get a life" as some would say. I don't understand how a grown man could have the heart to threaten the lives of many innocent children; I hope that there is retribution for such an offense.

  •
I find this article interesting because my favorite super hero is Iron Man and for military's to start building Iron Man armor for battle. this would be so cool to see because of all of the cool features on Iron Man which includes missiles coming out of his soldiers, a J.A.R.V.I.S system etc. In this article it states that the first prototypes will be ready for testing in June and the suit will undergo an evaluation period and hopefully be field-ready by August 2018

Man Assaults Wife for Not "Liking" His Facebook Update - 0 views

  •
Kind of funny from this perspective, here's the story: it all went down in Texas. 36-year-old Benito Apolinar posts an update, on Facebook, about the anniversary of his mother's death. Tragic enough for one day, right? Wrong. His wife of 15 years made no comment on the post. So what? Well, he allegedly beat her for it. Facebook, do you see what you do to people? And alcohol, as well?
  •
Two days ago it has been reported that a 36 year old Texas man attacked his wife for not 'liking' his status on Facebook. Benito made a status update about the anniversary of his mother's death. Angry that his wife made no response he punched her in the cheek and pulled her hair under the influence of alcohol. He was later arrested and is scheduled to appear in court soon. Just how much is Facebook impacting our lives?!

You Can Be a Real Superhero With This Crazy Spider-Sense Robot Suit - 1 views

  •
This article is very interesting in many ways. Many people admire the movie Spider-Man and people would love to have something like this so called spider-sense robot suit. The suit is really cool because it uses many microphones to hear in coming objects, the suit then detects where this noise is coming from and pushes you away from the object. This is great for people that are blind or slow because the suit will move you from harms way and save lives. The suit was tested a number of times and it has a 95% success rate which is really good for the first of it's kind. I am really excited for this cause it brings us one step close to super human like characteristics.

Knuckle and Fingernail Gestures Could Be Coming Soon to a Touchscreen Near You - 0 views

  •
This article talks about new gesture that could be used in addition to finger touch in order to have more options easily and launch new apps using your knuckle, fingertip, fingernail and more. A trio of Ph.D. students at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh managed to modify a Samsung Galaxy SIII to accept input from all three different touch variations, and tell the difference between them. It accomplishes this with the help of a vibration sensor and software that listens for the acoustic differences that come with the different types of touches. A man named Harrison has already started a company called Qeexo to start selling this tech. This vibration sensor can easily be added to any smartphone's "guts" and the software added too.   This article has a lot to do with portable computing because different companies are always coming up with new innovative ways to make smart phones more "smart". This is one of those things that a new company called Qeexo is doing. They are looking to improve the options and speed of using a smartphone for example instead of opening up a note pad by going into the menu and clicking it with your finger, you can use the "shortcut" of taping your knuckle twice to open it. This can also be used in gaming, option menus etc.  The main point is that companies are always changing making technology much more natural and easy to use. I think that this is a very good idea and over time if people hear about this depending on how much this would cost to upgrade it may become big and even become a pre-installed feature.

Patient has 75 per cent of his skull replaced by 3DD-printed implant | Information, Gad... - 0 views

  •
As if 3D printing wasn't impressive enough. A unnamed man in the US successfully had 75 percent of his skull replaced using just a 3D printer. The printer printed out an implant, which the company (Oxford Performance Materials) was granted permission to install within the patients skull. Also stated was that the implant has special indent and features that allows and promotes brain growth within the patient. The potential of 3D printing is extremely high. The company has said that they can now print out implants to fix any type of bone damage, whether it be from disease or trauma. The company also says that 500 people in the US a month could use this technology to fix any injuries. 3D printing is the future of the medical field, and I wouldn't be surprised if some day we could 3D print organs.  3D printing is talked about a lot in Mr. Fabroa's class, but I believe that it deserves all the coverage it gets. It truly is the future of the technological world.

Graphene Sponges: The New Lightest Material on the Planet - 0 views

  •
In science it is known that Graphene was the lightest material known to man but now graphene aerogel is the lightest material in the world. Aerogel is nothing new. China's zhejiang University made some aerographene and has a density of 0.16 mg/cm3 compared to the previous lightest material aerographite with a density of 0.818 mg/cm3 . Building chunks of an almost weightless material involves high-tech freeze drying. Aerographene is extremely resilient and can mop up 900 times its weight in oil making it potentially indispensable as a clean-up sponge.

The UFO Is Fake in Animator's YouTube Prank - But So Is Everything Else | Underwire | W... - 0 views

  •
This article discusses a youtube video, UFO prank. In the video a man or women supposedly captures a UFO on a shaky camera. Youtube viewers immediately know it is a fake video. The environment plays a part in this article because it is giving a negative feedback as some people start to believe in UFOs, and adapt to their existence in a negative way. For example, they can cause a scare and panic to many people who watch the video, and little do they know all it is, is a well edited video.

  •
A 26 year old software development student named Glenn Mangham had hacked into a facebook employees account. He claimed he was helping facebook to increase security. He is now going to jail for 8 months,  and facebook had to pay $200, 000 to deal with the hack. This has to do with the class because it deals with computers and using programs to hack into other websites.

Mandela funeral selfie adds to image problem for Denmark's prime minister | World news ... - 0 views

  •
December 10th was the day to remember the late Nelson Mandela. It was a day to commemorate the life of a great man who fought oppression and racism. Unfortunately a few world leaders had seen the memorial as some kind of a joke. The Danish prime minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Barack Obama the American president and the British Prime Minister David Cameron took a selfie during the ceremony. I find this behavior to be really disrespectful and rude. There kind of actions should not be done by anyone in any circumstance especially world leaders. I think that all three of these people bring their countries shame by showing the manners of the 2nd grader. I hope that these people clean up their act and properly represent their countries.

Theodore Cottingham One Minute Invitation - YouTube - 1 views

  •
Theodore Cottingham is single-handedly the greatest discovery I have made on the internet. When you click this link, it will bring you to the world of Theodore. All his religious beliefs on ALL of his 816 videos summed up in one minute. His philosophical nature is the driving and compelling force for this channel. The uniqueness of his delivery keeps me coming back. I honestly cannot fathom how this channel only has 18 subs. This man is not catholic, nor any religion for that matter. A future internet phenomenon for sure, reddit/atheism would probably go crazy over this guy. Oh yeah, and did I mention each one of his videos are an hour long? Don't fret though, every second is well worth being in Theodore's presence. I would consider subscribing to this guy if you already haven't, he makes a video every day. Well, there's so much I can explain on a Diigo bookmark, you'll see what I mean once you watch one of his videos. I see Theodoreism as a subject of discussion on the interwebs, so prepare yourselves people. ~23:59 p.m.

Custom 3D-printed kayak is a homemade work of art | Cutting Edge - CNET News - 0 views

  •
I am sharing this article as my wildcard for week 4. I found this article to be interesting because it helps show what is possible with 3d printing. A man named Jim Smith 3D printed himself a kayak over 1000 hours of printing time. Although this technology is not the fastest it shows me what is possible with 3d printing. We now live in an age where we can 3d print whatever it is we want for a exceptionally low cost as compared to purchasing it. If I could afford it I would 3d print more items and I find it to be a very interesting piece of technology.

China Set to Launch Its Own Space Station - 0 views

  •
China's unfaltering economy continues to feed national hunger for science. Unlike the Americans whom only seem to be satisfied with tea. China's purpose in space is unknown but if the Americans refuse to progress scientifically, then I guess we have to look to the new guy. However even china may not understand the true cost of space travel, maybe then they will look to their western friends. China's first module has been launched and completion of the heavenly palace is expected in 2020 with a manned moon mission sometime after.

Man Turns Random Tech Into Musical Instruments [VIDEO] - 0 views

  •
Musician Mikael Mutti uses engineer electronics and gaming controllers to create instruments and new sounds. This video was made using the controllers in the video-including a Rock band Guitar/ iPad hybrid, Japanese office telephone, a Wii remote and a Beamz laser motion sensor. Using a bluetooth and USB, Mikael plugs two controllers into his laptop and creates the video music using Reason and Pro Tools. Isn't it just weird how you can make different sounds and instruments out of electronics and game controllers?!

Watch this: former Nokia exec acquires Meta Watch's connected watch business - 0 views

  •
Looks like business mans might use watches instead of phones. We're making technology a whole lot smaller and much more efficient. If this technology becomes a success Nokia might step up its name and might be able to compete with other big time companies (well slowly). Right now Nokia brands dominates most of Asia and plans to expand along North America.

    Or use phones for watches

No, Facebook Is Not Ruining Your Grades [STUDY] - 0 views

  •
Studies have shown that Facebook is not responsible for decreasing our grades. Could this be true? On average, students spend at least 106 minutes on Facebook a day. This is only a decrease of 12 points in total which is not an significant amount. A man named Junco thinks that Facebook can be used effectively as an educational context. Is Facebook going to be part of our homework now? If so, I'd be getting straight A's.
