Timeline is an online tool created by Zach Wise. This tool allows users to develop timelines on the internet by administrating content from sites such as YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, Vimeo, Google maps, and Sound Cloud. It also provides users a JavaScript, and HTML based tool. They can provide content about media on their websites using coding.

This article is about a new virus, namely OSX/Flashback.k, that can hack into your Mac without the need for the admin password. Once infected, the Trojan will attempt to download a code for the main piece of malware, also known as "payload" and attempt to install it one of two ways. The way it installs it depends on whether or not the user inputs his admin password. Once the Mac is infected, the malware then hijacks Safari every time it launches and redirects the user to it's targeted website.

These hackers have stolen a lot from NASA such as access codes to over 150 NASA employees and causing significant disruption to mission operations. This just goes to show that big important companies like NASA aren't as secure with their stuff if people are able to hack into their computers.  These intrusions were discovered to be hackers working through China-based IP addresses. This worries me as to how easily people are able to hack because if they are able to bypass even NASA's computers then they could also hack into other places just as easily.

For the longest time we have all felt very safe while on the internet. Even with feeling this security, we should be more cautious with what we put out on the internet because there has been a bug lurking around in the most important security measures for years. Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) has been keeping your browing page secure and safe for numerous years and is a huge part of the internet and thankfully it is still working as it should. The problem that we have been experiencing is a software library called OpenSSL has a hole in it that has been there for years called "HeartBleed". OpenSSL allows people to get the protection from TLS/SSL easy and fast and has worked fine just like TLS/SSL but because there has been a minor coding error, malicious people can abuse different versions of OpenSSL and grab information that should originally be secured by TLS/SSL. The main problem that everyone can understand is that all of your personal information is being opened up and placed into the hands of someone who should not have the information. The other problem that this "HeartBleed" has is that the attackers will also get to see how the site that is taking your data indentifies. Not only can they see recent transactions but they can look back at old transactions that have already happened. The worst part about all of this is that none of the attackers leave a trace.Since they leave no trace, it is hard to tell how many websites and people have already been effected by the "HeartBleed". While sites try to fix up the problems it is recommended to change all of your passwords and to keep a close eye on your credit card statement. This bug is a huge problem for our society because absolutely no one is safe because there is no way to know if you've been attacked. We all want the bets seat on a plane, especially if it's a long flight. With the new iPhone app called "Jets," you can find the best seat available all from your iPhone. It tells you the best seats on your flight, and the seats are color-coded: blue for standard, green is good, yellow is okay, and red is atrocious. It will enlighten you on qualities such as which seats have extra leg room (score) and the ones that don't recline (toss it). Very useful in today's world, we could all use the extra help when preparing for a flight, and it makes flying somewhere that much easier for you.

Aren't you always annoyed by your parents because they ask you when to come home from the mall, or tell you the specific time when you have to go home? Well, to me that's annoying. Luckily, there's an app called "ImOK." This app works when parents sign up for an account and send a code to other members of the family. After this the other member of the family then signs up into the network of their phones. Teens check-in to the app for points, which plot their location on the map. While the adolescents check-in and add more information every time, they receive in return for their points is up to the parents. teens have a wishlist which they can suggest rewards in return of their points. Parents can either accept their ideas or add their own which both members can agree on. I believe that this app is a benefit on parents and their children because they both get something in return. The parents get their teen's trust, loyalty, and less stress, while the teen earns allowance. 

Siri may have given Apple the boost they needed to remain on top and above Google. They may have given themselves at least a two-year advantage over Google in the on-going battle for the best smartphone platform. Siri crossed the threshold of being able to directly communicate with your device, and it is huge. Google has a program called Voice Actions, but Siri really understands what you mean. And it's personable. For example, it responds to "I love you, Siri," with "I love you too." Why shouldn't Apple be on top? They have cracked a code that Google has yet too, and the technology for this will haunt the people at Google's nightmares for the next long while.

Apparently, Facebook has released a statement saying that around 600,000 log-ins are compromised every day. And their solution? Find three to five "trusted friends." This way, if you're locked out of your account, Facebook will send codes to your friends to give to you, that will let you back on to them. They are also testing out some app passwords that the company will create on their own, and you won't need to remember them at all. Kind of pathetic after everything else they've done, but if it truly does work, why complain? 

Google has added Web apps on to the desktop and the new page has bigger and friendly icons. it also added new technologies in Chrome that securely execute low-level code in the browser. Some of the new apps are gmail, Google Reader, Google News, and of course Angry Birds. Sounds good and even better then how it was before.

 THIS IS SO ODD?! Facebook says it will soon allow you to get help from your friends when you get locked out of your Facebook account. According to a post on Facebook's official Security page, you'll be able to designate three to five friends as "Trusted Friends" who will be sent special codes in the event that you're locked out of your Facebook account and unable to access your email.

        It is being reported that the newest Xbox console will have online DRM (Digital Restrictions Management). DRM is technology that puts restrictions on media such as software, games, music, etc. that limits how the buyer is able to use and share the media that he or she bought. This means that the Xbox will always need to have an active internet connection to be able to use the games that you buy, even if the game itself does not require internet connection. The point of this is to prevent to prevent the resale of used games. However, this will mean that people can not share games with eachother, play if the internet goes out or they they do not have the internet at all. This will increase the sale of new games giving the companies more profits. However, this may backfire on Microsoft, as many gamers may not purchase the new console as a form of boycott, reducing Microsoft's profit until the DRM is removed.
