An explanation of what freedom of religion means. It also provides some history about religion.

Alatavista (Original) The Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, defines freedom of religion and belief as follows: Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes the freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship, and observance. (Article 18) (Paraphrased) In 1948 the United Nations General Assembly clearly stated in Article 108 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: that every person has the right to their freedom of thought, conscience and religion. This extends to a community as well as the individual and encompasses practice, teaching, worship, and observance.

We have a right to bear arms, but there is still alot of controversy arising with this 2nd Amendment right. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is that if you are a responsible human being, and you are using the weapon as protection and leaving it in a safe place with the right precautions than you can have one, and you aren't abusing the right to have one. But if you are going to obtain a gun and bad decisions and leave it in places where it is easily accessable to those who shouldn't have it than you are irrisponsible and shouldn't be allowed to carry one. But, how are we supposed to sift through these personalities and find out who is capable of following the guidlines. Well...that is the million dollar question now isn't is?

Depending on how people interpret laws, they might believe that they might have lost them but some other people are still satisfied by the fact that they still have some rights. I really like how she expressed her opinion and it really got me thinking onto how our rights might change in the future.

Religion is one of our Constitutioal rights proctected by the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights. No one has the right to tell any U.S. citizen what or what not religion to practice.

I think that everyone has the right to believe in what they want. As long as they don't try to force others then I see no problem in it. I myself am not a religious person, but that does not mean that I should go around telling people what they believe in is wrong. We should all have an understandings for others beliefs and not try to shut them down just because of our own beliefs.

This article discusses the rights for individuals to have privacy. It talks about how everyone is free to make whatever decision they may need to make without the government getting involved. If there are certain issues that should be protected and kept to oneself, American's have that right due to amendments. Some privacy rights are more secure than others.

The U.S. Court of Appeals upheld a fifth graders right to distribute invitations to her church's Christmas party. The school had banned the student from distributing the invitations citing the invitations contained religious materials. The court's decision was based on the First Amendment's right to free speech.

I agree that student's should be able to learn of and encourage the religious beliefs of their classmates. How do we expect to raise well rounded individuals if we raise them to treat religion with such a hush hush attitude?

Being in a public school system, no religion should be enforced at all. These were Christmas invitations, inviting the students to a church event imposing the Christian belief system. This could have been done outside of school or elsewhere. This situation would only be okay if it was conducted in a private religious school, where public money does not fund the institution.

In a religious stand point if gay marriage is legalized it will look to many as a defeat for their religion. In another point for the people who say marriage is between a man and women, and how we need to define who is a man and who is a woman.

I defiantly disagree with both of these laws. I don't think it is right that a cop can pull someone over just to make sure they are legal. I also think in order to be allowed to handle a gun people should go through safety classes.

I think there should be a little more added to both these laws. If you want to search someone regardless of race, gender, religion or whatever you should need probable cause. Also I think if you are going to handle any type of weapon you should have some background with weapons handling; maybe off free weapons safety classes at public ranges?

In South Carolina, civil rights leaders planned a march to their state capitol as in past years when their rally highlighted calls to remove the Confederate flag from Statehouse grounds.

I'm really glad this symbol is being recognized and taken down in other states, especially those with discriminating acts recently taking place.

I think this is a great thing. Especially considering all of the racial issues we have been having lately through out the country I think this is a huge step in the right direction.

If Bill AB2019 is enacted into law, it will become mandatory to vaccinate children even when if the mom or dad says otherwise.

I think agree with destini, if we have talking about personal freedoms in all of these assignment then the individual should get to choose what they want to do. If a parent does it for them, then it was never a choice in the first place.

Young children can not make the decision themselves. That right is the given the parents that conceived them.

This site tries to defend are internet rights in relation to other personal rights like freedom of speech, press, and religion. This is also trying to stop the censorship issue against the internet.

This article by Adam Weinstein really jumped from topic to topic and personally I don't see the connection between illegal immigration to concelled-carry permits. The right to bear arms is a personal right I find important.

People that share the same sex should have the same rights to marriage as any other person in the United States. All the signatures that are being gathered by all the supports is a huge effort towards what is a personal freedom. Any one that desires to be married should have the right to do so no matter if they share same sex and law officials should pass the law.

The article states facts about violence and death in in the US and the percentage of gun issues but what about the other percentages that are not? Will stricter laws help the gun violence go down or will it go up because more people will want to buy guns due to the simple fact that they will be illegal

When the judicial process has run its course the outcome is always unfavorable for one party or the other. In the case of George Zimmerman the call for another sentencing for his life has had an public outcry. Many of these groups are more extremists and have slowed the Zimmerman family from moving on with their lives.

This article talks about Oregon's Death with Dignity Act passed in 1997. It reviews your personal freedom to die at a time & place of your choice if your facing a terminal illness.

This is surprising to see in the way that it has been kept underground and has had successful results. Although it is not surprising that many terminally ill patients would opt for this.

This article is a tough one. I agree with everything everyone is saying, but initially it is about the person who is suffering. If one of my family members were suffering with an illness that unfortunately ended with an early death and they were in horrible pain, I would rather tem be at peace and end their suffering if it is what they wanted.
