    This is a very well, designed and user friendly classroom blogging tool. I have been using it with my fifth graders and it is working very well. I can review all of the content before allowing it to be posted. I can make comments and mark errors and re-submit it to the student to be corrected. I can even pull up a blog as an example and edit it in front of the class without telling them whose blog it is. Pretty cool :-)

      In response to the portion I highlighted -- I took a very effective graduate mixed-mode course that successfully utilized case studies and problem based learning in both the face-to-face and online components.

  • How Can an Evaluation Rubric Promote Interactive Qualities? Malone, Malm, Loren, Nay, Oliver, Saunders, and Thompson, (1997, October) point out that both students and faculty have additional responsibilities in a distance environment. Faculty must alter both course design and teaching strategies to take advantage of technologies and assure maximum interaction. But they say that students must assume more responsibility for their learning taking the initiative for requesting clarification and feedback to make up for the immediacy offered by face-to-face formats. Malone et al., cite the need for well-researched criteria to help faculty know what they are aiming for when they evaluate the effectiveness of their distance courses.

The teacher can use this site to explain other cultures and civilizations to be presented to students in an interesting way to increase the knowledge of students.

    This is by far the best site the DOE has to offer. The curriculum maps are easy to design and there is a plethora of lesson plans for each standard for every grade level to work with. This is especially nice when you have little resources from your district!

    August 18, 2014 I love rubrics and I find them particularly helpful in lesson plan designing as well as in assessing students work. I know some teachers and educators think of them as "so yesterday" but we need to view them as roadmaps that can guide you towards achieving your teaching/learning goals.
