We need this type of program for young men all over the world. We tend to forget about helping the troubled kids.

My students love visiting this library since it is online. While they aren't actually checking out books, they are gaining experience with research skills and reading non-fiction texts.

Great resource for teachers, parents, and students. It's a search database that categorizes math topic by grade level and it explains concepts in plain step by step terms. This type of website would be awesome for parents that are not math savvy to use to brush up on their math skills or to relearn math concepts while trying to help their children.Great for teachers to refer to as a secondary way to explain a concept beyond their knowledge and the textbook being used.

Matho is a great website and also a phone app for both iphone and android for parent to have available for their children. Kids love to play online games and this type of website allows parents to provide their children with a fun interactive game while enhancing their math skills. Also the games are timed so this can further challenge kids to want to compete in trying to get the highest score in the shortest amount of time.

this website was found through the US. Department of Education. It gives parent helpful practical examples of how they can use everyday task such as shopping at the grocery store to get kids motivated and practicing their math skills. These type of hands on practical approaches are always great to do with young kids because it's a way to capitalize on their free time and to have them practice what they are learning in school without feeling like they are in a classroom.

A brief study of the current usage of the word "curate." This word has become popular especially among those interested in so-called 21st Century learning/skills. What information do you "curate," and for whom do you present it?

I curate everything for my child, and for my students....apps, websites, games, field trips, resources, books; anything i know they could use and benefit from and enjoy. I also curate info on plants, especially native and edible ones, and how to grow and preserve them, and present it to whoever is interested. I really could "curate" a lot of things, being the resourceful person that I am...but I wouldn't want to come across as a know it all, trying only to speak when I know the info would be appreciated.

With a highly competitive job market that is likely to be the norm for years to come, students may well need a broad range of technology-based skills in order to be prepared for the workforce. By honing those skills in K-12 settings, youngsters should be better equipped for college and beyond.
