I thought this article was great at giving an example as to how a teacher, with a little organization, can transform a traditional teaching scenario into one that directly integrates the Internet into the lesson, based on the National Education Technology Standards for Students.

Common Core in Action: Narrative Writing | Edutopia - 0 views

  •
A great post that reminds readers about the transcendence of narrative writing across genres (and across subjects!) The teacher uses historical and science fiction as inspiration for her ELA students' writing projects, but ideas, such as the "What if . . ." digital presentation project she mentions from Larry Ferlazzo could be used in almost any subject. The author's ideas for having students prove their informational research are also very helpful. I loved reading the post, too. Her, "Nobody puts baby in a corner," quote made me laugh out loud.

Pinterst is a great social media site for teachers to use to find diy (do it yourself) teacher materials, classroom management techniques and various other great ideas to use in your classroom for your students. I would highly reccommend this social media site because it is very easy to save the ideas that you find interesting and to go back and revisit those ideas later on at any time.

As an educator, we are constantly looking for ways to comply with IDEA, as well as see areas that need improvement. This is just one way the Florida Department of Education is helpful for educators, as well as the Federal Department of Education website.
