A superb example of "remixing" for popular culture content. While not, obviously, licensed for remixing (via Creative Commons or alternative), this parody (consistent with fair use of copyrighted materials) still showcases tactics involved in remixing (e.g., excerpting, re-sequencing, adding content elements) in a way that creates a new work from the old.

"The goal was to discuss what this virtual content might look like, how to manage it all once we have accumulated a large amount of digital resources, and how Common Core standards may impact this process."
I saw a focus on teaching learning as a skill and not a consequence of content delivery.
The ideas of thoughtful, and deep questioning of a subject, before tackling it, as a problem to solve was a striking revelation
The idea of teaching the use of the process to acquire the content knowledge as opposed to just providing the content made so much more sense to me. All of this emphasized the “How” to learn as opposed to “What’ to learn.
You can select a grade level and subject area to be tested on PARCC. You then are able to see the content framework of what students will be expected to do.
Thursday, 09 January 2014 20:47 If your learners aren't performing as well on their post-training evaluations as you'd hoped, you may want to try an e-Learning development technique to help them remember - content chunking. The introduction of how to use the holistic critical thinking scoring rubric.Holistic scoring requires focus. Whatever one is evaluating, be it an essay, a presentation,
a group decision making activity, or the thinking a person displays in a professional practice
setting, many elements must come together for overall success: critical thinking, content
knowledge, and technical skill (craftsmanship). Deficits or strengths in any of these can draw the
attention of the rater. However, in scoring for any one of the three, one must attempt to focus the
evaluation on that element to the exclusion of the other two. To use this rubric correctly, one must
apply it with focus only on the critical thinking - that is the reasoning process used.
Although a lens to view the future is clouded, and must be filtered through the past and present, the ability to stand back and think about the impact of technologies on student learning will undergird research in technology for the education of children, youth, and adults with disabilities in the 21st century. We must view the coming changes, and they will be massive, from the perspective that technology provides access to learning but does not control it; that technologies are not the content of education鉹ather, they provide a cornucopia of tools for learning.
