The "7 Things You Should Know About..." series provide quick reads with concise information about emerging technologies and practices. The Campus-Wide IT section addresses professional challenges in higher education, while the Learning Technology section discusses individual technologies or practices. I could bookmark at least a dozen of these relevant articles (microlectures, social content curation, educational design research, e-readers, cloud computing, and so on), which is why I'm saving the main page instead.

This resource would be great for anyone who has an interactive whiteboard or even computers in their classroom. Brainflips allows you to create flash cards for any content area. After creating the flash cards there are different "modes" that students can use to learn the content. What a great way to practice spelling words, math facts and so much more!

Blendspace allows educators to blend their classroom with digital content.

Digital Librarian is a great source for electronic texts and primary source documents. This site is a must for any teacher. All content is free.

A plainspoken, non-technical overview of basic HTML tags bloggers may find useful for making tweaks to their content and why they might want to do so. Also includes links to additional HTML resources for those who want more.

science buddies offers science project ideas, blogs, teacher help, lesson plans and careers, and much more. Every science teacher can usable content at this site.

Create your own handwriting worksheets! Help your students hone their handwriting skills! This is a great website that allows you to create your own handwriting worksheets covering a range of skills. Use this site to create content specific worksheets allowing for extra time to be spent on certain areas of the curriculum. Create sheets about the planets, animals, or other areas of vocabulary and content.

The Smithsonian website is an educational that provides links and activities for both educators and students. This site provides educational content for educators which they can easily access and use within their classrooms. It provides videos, interactive games and additional links for students to navigate their way through in order to gain a greater understanding of history and art. It is a great site that can truly help enhance to overall content of one's lesson.

The History Teacher's Channel provides great historical content set to some of America's most popular songs. Think of it as and educational version Weird Al Yankovic. Every song and (and there is over 50 to date) contains a music video that reinforces the song.  I often use these for anticipatory sets in my class, and the students love them. Best of all they are free.

This is a very well, designed and user friendly classroom blogging tool. I have been using it with my fifth graders and it is working very well. I can review all of the content before allowing it to be posted. I can make comments and mark errors and re-submit it to the student to be corrected. I can even pull up a blog as an example and edit it in front of the class without telling them whose blog it is. Pretty cool :-)
