I thought this article provided an interesting perspective about evaluating the use of certain digital tools based  on the type of instructional approach a teacher planned to use. The use of polyphonic teaching lends itself to the use of digital tools. 

Tool-based software, including web-based tools, can make a substantial contribution to the success of Personalized Learning Environments in today's learning environments. The Tools section of DTL contains information on tools that educators have found to be effective. The Resources section of DTL includes all kinds of digital content, including Open Educational Resources, that educators have found to be effective.

This website offers free, interactive resources online featuring Latin & Greek root-based activities at grade levels. It was listed as an instructional resource on the Florida Department of Education website.

This site provides interactive and fun ways for students to practice and learn new vocabulary words via games, puzzles, and crosswords. It is suitable for students from high elementary grades through college!

A robust rebuttal of Prensky, Tapscott, et al's assertions that contemporary generations are more technologically proficient than their predecessors. The counter-argument is that our society has become more technological and individuals are more or less well adapted to this change. The author of this rebuttal (Pontefract) makes a case based upon logic, personal experience, and several recent research studies.

Great website that has thousands of passages for your students. You can seach by lexlie level, by skill/strategy, or by grade. I use these all the time in the classroom to review skills I've already taught. Common Core aligned, teacher & principal endorsed.

In addition to providing professional development for hardware and software, this site also has numerous project based learning ideas using technology. I access it through my district's website so access may be limited without an account.
