Cool virtual reality tool. I have one my sister gave me for Savannah college of Art and design that they did with the iPhone. It was incredible. Cardboard with a smartphone inserted. It uses the accelerometer inside to really make it feel 3d. It does. You can actually get kind of dizzy. From Richard Byrne's site. Amazing Apple and Android app which allows you to take a poll from your class instantly using the camera on your device. Your students simply hold up the symbol for the multiple choice answer they wish to give. This has to be the coolest app ever. Create a quiz on Quick Key and then you can print out a bubble sheet. Snap a picture of the quiz with your iphone and it will grade it for you! Wow. There are many text editors you can use with Dropbox on your ipad. You can export and import from Pages now, which is one of the ways I most often edit the files, however, if you want to make sure that all of your files are saved in dropbox and you never have to look, you might want to choose one of these apps.

Google now is worth installing on iPad and iPHones and you can get it even if you don't have a Droid phone. This instruction at PC mag tells you how, but it is part of the Google Search app. Download that and follow these instructions to set it up. There are privacy concerns so I wouldn't do this with students. Educate yourself but you might just get a handy personal assistant.

Sign easy just won an award for being the simplest way to sign docs on the iphone and ipad. It links with most cloud services like Dropbox, Box and Evernote.

What makes this app interesting is that you can use the whiteboard, but you can also record and record things "or over video streaming** without changing of application". If you're on the prowl for great math apps (or any app), crawl over to App crawler - a site that has a lot of apps and ideas for you. There are some very interesting apps here. It is about time, however, for apps to come packaged with textbooks.

Drafts is a handy app for those who who use a variety of tools like Evernote and dropbox. For example, you can jot a note and click a button to send it to Twitter, Dropbox, Evernote and more -- (like if you want to save copies of certain tweets, etc. since it is so hard to get things out of Twitter.) I'm not entirely clear on the workflow automation piece of Drafts after watching this video on lifehacker but am going to learn more about this handy app.

This is a wonderful site from the University of Salford in the UK. Listen to soundscapes which have been recorded all over the world. Navigate on the map to find a place of interest, listen to the recording and read the information about the location.
